Was X-Men a musical?

Hugh would be excellent as the Gunslinger.

Screw the haters.

i IMDB'd him. Never seen his work, So I can't say.

the thing is, they'd almost have to get a nobody since the character will (obviously)bleed into TV show as well. which would make the show's budget skyrocket

thats why i think he would be good. He isnt a big name (he should be) but he has a strong following because of Firefly series (which is a science fiction/western) and he does do TV ( he has a show right now, i forget the name)

I always thought Viggo Mortensen would be a good choice.

he plan is to start with the feature film, and then create a bridge to the second feature with a season of TV episodes. That means the feature cast—and the big star who’ll play Deschain—also has to appear in the TV series before returning to the second film. After that sequel is done, the TV series picks up again, this time focusing on Deschain as a young gunslinger. Those storylines will be informed by a prequel comic book series that King was heavily involved in plotting. The third film would pick up the mature Deshain as he completes his journey. They will benefit from being able to use the same sets cast and crew for the movie and TV, which could help contain costs on what will be a financially ambitious undertaking.

If this can be pulled off it's going to amazing. Never has something like this been attempted. Think about what they are doing. It's very, very ambitious.

I thought of that too based on his role in Firefly.

I'm not sure it's a great fit though. Roland does not have a sense of humor and probably should be tougher and more aloof.

And Roland is supposed to look older, world-worn, and tough as nails. Fillion looks a bit to fresh faced and capable of emotion to pull it off.

Daniel Day-Lewis would be my ideal choice. But that's never going to happen.

He would be great.

Or they could go another direction and get Val Kilmer or Johnny Depp to play a campy Roland. That would go over real well.

DDL would be freaking money. Don't know if he would do it though, being it's going to be multiple movie/series..

I thought about Daniel Day-Lewis. What about Viggo? If they could age Timothy Olyphant, he could work as well. I really liked him in Deadwood.

Glad they are making it a trilogy

Most of the middle books were pretty drawn out and irrelevant to the main plot.
