Will this movie ever get made?

quote:

The doomed James Bond film has suffered a fresh setback as stars Daniel Craig and Rami Malek are no longer available to shoot at the same time.

Malek, 38, who will play the movie’s villain, has other filming commitments which will have started by the time Craig, 51, returns to set following the recovery time for an ankle injury.

It has caused a fresh headache for producers, who are struggling to find a date for them to film together.

just turn back the hands of time and have it set to april 26, 1986.

imagine this. a nuke reactor is about to explode.

then, 007 shows up to prevent it.

then his mightiest enemy reveals himself. Anatoly Dyatlov.

boom, reactor explodes.

Bond should suffer radiation poisoning, but he doesn't

then boom, it is revealed.

he is a targaryen.

The bond movie I want to see is one where the current bond must face off against all the former bonds who apparently all faked their deaths in order to retire, but have now formed an alliance to try to take down MI6, which they believe is involved in some shady shite that will destroy Great Britain. Current Bond has to defeat Sean Connery, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan while also trying to figure out if the ex-00's were right.

They already did this and it was awesome.

Bond 25 has the potential to be a disaster. So many underlying problems from production issues to having to follow up the storyline with Spectre. They don’t even have a friggin name for it yet.

They should’ve just let Spectre be Craig’s last Bond film and then rebooted with a new Bond. Would’ve been a fresh start and it would’ve prevented a lot of problems. Now we’re going to have an old and hobbled Daniel Craig, who hates playing Bond, phone it in for another script that is probably a mess.

Maybe one day in the future we will have a regular Bond movie again where James Bond is an active agent and is sent on a mission to save the world that doesn’t involve him fighting something from his past.

This but it’s sadly too late. They’ve already started filming.

Sometimes I wonder what these studios are really thinking. Do they think that the fans are paying to see Daniel Craig? Do they think we all want to see a "dark and gritty reimagining" of every character?

People just want to see James Bond. they'd make so much money if they simply just made a James Bond movie.

I'm looking forward to the next Bond, which is supposedly going to be Richard Madden (Robb Stark). They might as well make the switch if they're facing scheduling difficulties.

I get that Craig is a huge star and the established Bond so therefore he’s known commodity for the producers, but to your point people will still pay to see a Bond movie of it were another actor.

The mistake they made after Casino Royale was thinking that they had to make every Bond movie involve a story about him fighting some personal demons or something. Every Bond movie since License to Kill (except for maybe The World is Not Enough) has a variation of Bond going rogue, Bond going on revenge, and Bond encountering someone from his past. Compare that to all of the movies leading up to that. I mean why in God’s name did anyone think it was a good idea to make Blofeld Bond’s half-brother?

I think the producers are overly-obsessed with trying to keep up with the times and that’s why you always see them trying to mimic Batman or Bourne movies.

Just chalk it and reboot the franchise at this point. There’s no way this will be a success.

I don't see him really as a huge star anymore. He hasn't really done anything outside the bond movies since Skyfall. Maybe Logan Lucky but that's it.

This is the problem in a nutshell.

Bond is not a man of the 21st century. He's a sexist, misogynist who typifies the "toxic masculinity" many of these powerful Hollywood actresses have been ranting and raving about for the last three or four years. You can't update him to the modern era and do the character justice.

They need to either permanently kill the franchise or take the character back to the height of the Cold War where he truly belongs. Because for whatever reason the suits at Sony aren't comfortable with adapting the Bond from the novels to the world of the 21st century.

The #metoo would give Idris Elba a misogyny pass. He could pull it off

There’s no telling how big the overreaction to #MeToo will be in the next Bond Movie. It feels like every Bond movie in the last 25 years has tried to oversell the fact that it has a “strong female” character as if there haven’t been strong female characters in Bond before.

I’d be fine with a return to a Cold War Bond. It’s not my preference but it be a fun take. However, they nailed it with Casino Royale so they’ve shown that they can have a modern Bond.
