Watched this yesterday. I remember the guys face and hearing about him growing up but didn't know the whole story. Wow! It makes me look at law enforcement on the local/state level in a whole new light.

The girlfriend of Lucas he supposedly killed and confessed to killing her but she was still alive and the Rangers never bothered to find that fact out.
Not sure if you missed it or not but that turned out to be a hoax
Who was the guy with her that backing up her story? Before it was revealed it was a hoax he was talking about picking her up and had shifty eyes. I thought it was odd and felt something was fishy. Turns out it was.

I assumed it was a boyfriend or something.
If she’s that batshit crazy, it wouldn’t surprise me if she was linked up with an even crazier dude that would go along with it
The fact that she supposedly married the guy she ran off at the truck stop with was a little much for me at the time, I thought it was weird. And they made it appear real for so long

I started this series as a 30 year old and never having heard of the guy or his story as I am too young.
The funniest part to me was that fact that ol Henry had to be driving around nonstop all the time to do all this killing. Kill a girl in Florida one night and then drive 2000 miles to Nevada and murder a girl 2 days later. Seems legit.
I laughed at the absurdity of the whole scenario and the gullibility and lack of sophistication of the police. The world was a wild place 40 years ago.
I look forward to finishing the series this weekend.

I remember Henry Lee Lucas and all the murders he confessed to. I watched the documentary and it was pretty good.

What I’ve learned from all these docs from pre-DNA and 24 hour news is that most of the big scary serial killers that we grew up on or learned about, were actually just a bi product of incredibly bad or negligent police work
Obviously today’s law enforcement has a lot of weapons in the arsenal like dna that they didn’t in that era, but most of these stories involve a cop either blatantly manipulating evidence or completely ignoring basic logic and facts

I don't carry a sidearm, but If I did it would be in a holster that matches my belt like those badass Rangers wear.

He looks like he weighs 120 lbs. I'd like to know what he eventually recovered in his defamation case... and how he spent it.
He got 58 mil. They said that in the doc.
And now he’s basically the Morris Bart of Waco
That doesn’t mean he eventually got the entire amount. Appeals, settlement after trial, etc.

I refuse to baby sit people through their TV watching habits. Make your own decision like an adult

Btw that guy has seen some shite. He witnessed the JFK shooting and the Jack Ruby shooting in person as well as spent time with Bundy
The entire time I watched the documentary, I kept trying to figure out where I had seen him before. You are absolutely right!!

Like the D.A. angle and the Rangers and FBI going after him for questioning these cases...and especially...
The fact that the corrupt FBI guys could try and ruin this guy's life with threats and lies, and also have governmental immunity, is pretty frightening.
How, in the USA, can people like that have immunity from the very justice system that they are supposed to uphold?
Say what you want about where we currently are in this country, but just imagine how much shite like that happened ALL THE TIME before the age of information. I know that it still happens a lot, but not near at the ease and impunity that it did.
