Emy is also likely about to be a Challenge staple, and she's tough as nails. And she always has CTs back.
She is annoying and I hate her, but I also weirdly kinda like her at the same time. She's almost got a childlike quality to her that is endearing to watch sometimes. But she's still mostly annoying as frick.
quote:
He's got size and power and leverage and heart. Thats a deadly combo. The only elim I can think of him losing was Hall Brawl to Fessie, who was made for that game.
And technically, didn't he get injured in it? So even though Fessy still would've likely won if they were both at 100%, Fessy ended up winning because Kyle was hurt?
quote:
But with how much he makes per episode on the Challenge (my guess would be at around $50-$100K each week), and how easy it is for him to win it now, he's probably making around $1M per season if he wins first place.
Wait, you think CT gets six figures A WEEK? That can't be close to true, right? I know MTV shells out money to its "stars," like I remember the news stories about one of the 16 and Pregnant (or whatever show it was) girls and how MTV paid her like $400K a year or some shite. It blew my mind. But surely they can't be shelling out six figures a week for some of the Challenge cast, can they? If so, then I understand why some of the people keep coming back way beyond their primes (Aneesa, for example...not that she's making CT money, but I'm sure she makes a decent salary for just showing up and getting sent home before the finals).
quote:
Has there ever been a more consistently delusional person in challenge history? Anesa is her only competition. At one point tonight she called herself a “work horse”
Yeah I laughed pretty hard at that. And nobody answered my question yet...hasn't she been on several seasons where she wanted to quit and go home because she overreacted and got drunk and all emotional? Am I wrong, because I remember that happened on at least a few occasions.

Rivals 1 is iffy, because he had Adam as his partner and Tyler and John were a really, really really strong team.
Johnny & Tyler would not have even been in the finals that season is it wasn’t for Adam
Remember that was Choo Choo CT. He was winning that year until Adam gave the elimination to Johnny & Tyler just before the final.
Johnny owes one of his 7 challenge wins to little Adam for throwing that elimination
CT had finished his rack of balls and was waiting for Adam to finish his last ball. Adam kept falling down over and over and CT went and tried to drag him up to finish, but Adam kept falling down
Here is the video of it

Nelson wanting the orange team to make a triangle when it clearly said make 3 squares sums him up perfectly. He really needs his own reality tv show.
I was legit laughing at him. Listening to him verbalize his thought process was incredible

And anyone else disappointed that there wasnt an eating checkpoint in that final? That’s always been a finals staple

Yup. I definitely thought that was coming when TJ said "This leg of the final will challenge everything you have" or something like that. And then it ended up being just running up a mountain and memorizing numbers. This final was stupid.
And I remember the choo choo CT challenge, but I didn't realize it was actually an elimination though, or that it was right before the final. Did Adam actually throw that challenge or did he just legitimately frick up? Don't get me wrong, I can easily buy the "he threw it" angle because of their history, and because he basically started the challenge fricking up by taking CT's balls instead of his own. But was that ever determined to be true that he actually did it on purpose?

CT thinks he did. Said so in a barstool interview a few years back. Was a podcast. Adam was best friends with Johnny, Evan, Kenny

Crazy how good CT is at these. Just imagine how much more wins he would have if he wasn’t a psycho in his younger years.
Yeah, there seems to be three big "qualities" for the competitors throughout the show. They're either super smart, super strong, or super good at the political game/not getting involved in drama.
CT is about the only one that excels in all three. Now that he's mellowed out he doesn't get involved in any drama with the guys or girls. You can tell this is just a business for him now.

Nelson’s geometry skills set a new bar. Sit down Brad trying to spell throne, we have a new king.
Did he say something about a “long square?”
His performance on the puzzle was so epic no one is even mentioning his swimming.

Don’t look now, but CT is only two back of Bananas for most wins all time.

So... a rectangle?

Yeah, this final was weak as frick. From a running/endurance standpoint I guess it stacks up to others, mainly because of the terrain. But there wasn't really anything challenging enough to the players to affect them. Even the swim wasn't very long, and the pieces to memorize were not only ten feet or less below the surface, but you could also pull up on the ropes and read them while practically treading water.
And yes, Nelson said something about a "long square," and I think it was Kaycee that said "Nelson, that's a rectangle."

Nelson talking about triangles is an absolute Challenge gold moment, an all-timer. That dude lolololloll.

On his podcast, Bananas says that he'll likely be back next season because CT will catch him in wins if he doesn't get back in.

‘The Challenge’ Season 37 Final: Tori Deal Said Production ‘Had to Help’ Players Solve a Puzzle: ‘None of Us Could Figure It Out’
quote:
The Challenge Season 37 final requires physical endurance, mental fortitude, and now, fantastic teamwork to get to the end. Tori Deal spoke on MTV’s Official Challenge Podcast with host T.J. Lavin about one of the first puzzles the finalists had to complete. According to Tori, the wire puzzle took an extraordinary amount of time for several players to finish.
“Devin finishes the puzzle, I’m gonna say, in 10 minutes,” Tori began. “The next person to finish the puzzle was CT, probably in 15 minutes. The next person to finish the puzzle was me in 45 minutes. There was that much of a time gap between me and CT and Devin. Devin crushed that puzzle. Forty-five minutes between me and first place.”
“We were actually taking so long that production came out and added pieces into our puzzle boards because none of us could figure it out,” Tori noted of all the players except for Devin and CT. “They had to help us, swear to God. But I did the first puzzle really fast.”

Seems like they would just time cap it at 20 minutes like they used to.
Amanda made a point about MTV’s deal with CBS that really watered down the Challenge. CBS wants the show to be a little cleaner. That may be why you don’t see people eating until they puke anymore.

They used to have time limit caps so it didn't take someone 2 hours to solve a puzzle and blow their whole final, but I guess they don't anymore. I guess they forgot that 90% of these contestants likely have a 4th grade intelligence level.
It's souch harder for John to win now as opposed to CT for a variety of reasons. Since John has not been on in a few seasons, CT has really formed an alliance with all of the newer staples like Devin and now probably Kaycee and many others.
And since John is not a threat in eliminations like CT is, you can make a big move on him and it may not come back to bite you like it would against CT.
I think the top talent gets close to that. I think I read somewhere Vevmo or something once that John got like $60K an episode, and that was quite a few years ago.
Yeah, the challenge is super lucrative if you're an established player. I bet people like Emy get like $3K and episode, if that, and most of the big time vets get 10x that or more.
Thats why it's so devastating when people like Dee get killed off from the show and people like Nany come back year after year after year.
I remember reading like 7 or 8 years ago that someone ran into Nany in Chicago where she was waitress in real life, and she said she could make more on 2 months if the challenge than she could as a full-time waitress in a major city in a year.
Thats also why TJ always hated people so much that quit the show mid season. He said onec in an interview (I don't remember where) that those slots on the show are coveted by so many people that would claw and die for a chance on The Challenge, and when someone comes in and just acts an arse and gets kicked off or quits for bullshite reasons, he despises them for it because they took a slot from someone that really wanted it.
The Challenge is a big business among Viacom reality stars because it's one of the few shows where the same people can constantly come back instead of a whole new crop every season like on most BB and Survivor cycles.

I wonder when we will have challenge people like CT, Wes, Bananas start appearing on BB and/or survivor?

Hopefully we get CT and Johnny in the same season again and they are somehow paired against each other.
I’m not sure I would say CT is better than Johnny but he has absolutely convinced all of the current major players not to make a move on him which basically means he is going to every finals. These last 2 seasons were an absolutely cake walk for CT. I just don’t think Wes/Johnny would let him win this easy if they were around.
