It's also clear he couldn't handle the cold either. I'd guess Davonne spent almost as much as time in the water as he did because if how slow she swam.

I think everything that happened to Paulie, numbness in arms and fingers, getting really cold, was all tied to him being concussed. An argument can also be made that him breaking down emotionally was from the concussion.

The elimination wasn’t what I thought it would be. Straight tug of war Dee destroys Day. Dee being bent over the whole time was an awful strategy.

I would have liked to see what happened if Paulie didn’t screw up. It would have been fun seeing all the guys going full speed in that comp.

That dude is a fricking warrior. How he was still even inching up that net when time ran out, I have no clue.

I'll put it this way. Turbo actually admitted he felt really bad for Paulie. You can tell Turbo respected the hell out of that dude's heart and effort.

Yeah, gotta give Paulie props for that also. Dude went out the right way. He gave it everything he had and never quit

But that dive was dumb as frick.

Oh yeah it was incredibly dumb but there are very few “holy shite that was freaking awesome” moments, and he probably would have been fine if it wasn’t for that helmet with the camera making the entry so jarring on his head. He hit the water damn near perfect at full speed from 30 feet up and travelled like 25 feet. It was pretty sick.

I think the cold got to him because of how much energy he was exerting. His arms and legs would have started locking up in warm water anyways. Those two falls he took back down the net probably did not feel good at all either.

Was a pretty rough challenge to have to go first. He had to set the pace and not mosey around. There were 3 other extremely strong male competitors behind him. I don’t think you can just take your time and hope for the best with a trip to the finals on the line.

Turbo is one of the most interesting challenge competitors of all time. Dude legitimately wants the best competitors in the final. That's a first that I've seen. He's so black and white that it's incredible to watch these weirdos try to deal with him. If you want to profit off him, you better not betray his trust. You're better off staying off his radar, because he's such a strong competitor, you will pay for betrayal.

Georgia seems like such a cool chick. It sucks someone like that would get sucked in by a shithead like Bear.

Agree with all of that. I like Georgia until she opens her mouth, and then it's annoying as frick. Add that to the whole Bear thing and she gets way less attractive.

Finally caught the episode last night. HAHAHAHAHAHA at you, Paulie. You fricking loser. I agree with whoever it was saying it has to suck to almost die on a challenge and then watch some of the girls finish it with minimal effort. What a pussy. And Cara continually yelling shite at him like "If you're struggling, this is gonna be hard for EVERYBODY." God I hate her so much.

I know everyone said it was excruciating to watch, but I feel like I would've been giggling like a little kid watching Paulie fall over and over. Especially when he kept falling off trying to climb back up the net. I wish Kyle would've still been around to see that. I can appreciate his effort in not quitting, but he doesn't deserve my pity for how he acts all the time.

I also agree that Paulie and Kyle will be best buds on upcoming seasons. His hatred for Kyle is clearly bullshite, and Kyle seems to be a pretty likable person.

As for the elimination, good on you, Da'Vonne. I can't stand her but she's brought it pretty solidly this season. And I am so glad she beat Dee, who acts like she's some awesome badass. Well you just got put out by Da'Vonne, so go home and feel bad about that.

It's weird to me that I always hated Wes and now he's one of my favorites on the show. I am pulling for Wes hardcore to win, mainly because it means he will likely keep coming back. But I also wouldn't mind seeing Turbo win, just because he is so much of a wildcard.

Mattie seems like a cool chick, and I wouldn't mind her or Georgia winning. I am hardcore pulling against Cara Maria and Natalie. I legit hate them both.

Oh, I forgot about Theo...I'm cool if he wins too. Just as long as Hunter isn't the winner. But we have seen him gas out and lose his shite far too many times for me to think he has any chance to win.

I can't wait to see how easy this final is compared to old school ones. Now it's basically running for a few hours and you're done. I know this one says it's "50 miles" or whatever, but I still expect it to be pretty fricking easy since they have been trending more and more that direction for the last 5+ years.

Those two falls he took off the top of the rope looked dangerous as all hell. The show is lucky he didn't get seriously hurt. The first one he landed near that curve in the net going headfirst. The second one he landed near that curve at the bottom going feet first. That could have been really bad.

Agreed. On one of his falls off the rope climb, I thought he had hit his head on whatever was slightly below the water surface at the bottom of the net. And on the other fall I thought about how it almost seemed like his leg was a little close to getting caught in the net as he flipped down. Both could have been super dangerous.

Bunch of really cool guys in here making fun of Paulie for putting so much effort and desire into winning that he was emotionally devastated he lost.

Nah, Paulie does nothing but talk shite and tell everybody how awesome he is. And then he sucked in a relatively easy challenge. He deserves ridicule. I don't always hate Paulie, but this season has me pretty hugely anti him. Maybe it's how he carried himself, maybe it's the Cara thing, or maybe it's both and other stuff too. But this season he's rubbed me the wrong way almost universally. He's entertaining TV though, I will give him that.

Paulie kicked off his shoes and gloves on that second container. I was thinking he came close to getting a toe stuck in the net as he was falling. That could have been real bad.

I think the final will come down to Wes and Turbo. Hunter is an idiot and will lose a lot of time on the puzzle. We don't know how Turbo or Theo will do on eating challenges though I think Turbo will be ok. Its crazy that 5 of the 8 finalists are rookies. This is a changing of the guard season. Kyle and Paulie will be the new Wes and Bananas going forward. Turbo can be the new CT.

Justin Booth coming back to the show has totally changed it.

This is tougher than Rivals I. Chainsmker Ashley wouldn’t have made it even as far as Georgia.

When the first said “50 miles” I thought there’d be some wack catch like they would fly in a plane to a check point and that would count as most of the mileage. I can’t believe they actually made them do this

This is what infuriates me most of all. That idiot, piece of trash won the two easiest finals I've ever seen in seasons that were basically slanted and biased against good players and men.

It just makes hunter getting screwed even worse.

Cara's sole win is in the same category. Damn I'm sick of her.. "people look up to me" bullshite. John was right all those years ago, she gasses and freaks out in finals.

Congrats, your barely better than hunter, who is easily the worst "good" player of all time... Atrocious at puzzles and has no endurance.
.

Ashley would have quit an hour into it... Gotten exposed as the utterly mediocre comepitior that she is, then done an exit interview where she insulted everyone and blamed others, said she was rich anyway, then played the victim at the reunion.

This final is basically a mini Crucible...in a desert.

And BTW, did they not give away the winner in that preview, it looked like Theo or Turbo on their knees at the finish line.

I do think Part 2 will be a lot easier, with kayaking, biking and a race. However this first part was the most brutal thing they’ve put people through.

Theo and Wes are sitting in a great spot right now as it appears that they will actually correctly time it out rather than giving Theo a 2 minute head start for doing such a great job on the first day.

Just makes many of those past wins suspect in retrospect. Just bizarre why they never used actual times in the past.

They must have gotten backlash after Rivals I because I think everything else was timed. I know Free Agents was timed to the second.

The only one with the BS timing since was the one Cara won (Bloodlines?) but that was nothing like the more demanding finals like Rivals I, Rivals II, Free Agents, and Exes 2.

Brutal final so far. It’s great. And it’s a cool way to even things for everyone without completely slanting it against males.

What was the difference between Georgia and Natalie? Why was one DQ’d and one allowed to continue?

And I am impressed with Theo. A lot actually. Dude is a legit great competitor and is cool as well. Hope he sticks around in the future.

Hunter sucks arse as usual. Glad to see Wes in second about 9 minutes behind Theo. Turbo disappointed me though.

The scene with Wes and the rookies in the kitchen was great. They weren’t scared and they should have been. And not to mention that they’ve gone 24 miles so far, so it’s technically not even half over yet.

Oh, and frick Cara as usual. The biggest fear in her life is “anything medically related”? What the frick?? Get some saline inside you, idiot. You need it. I’d have been like “can I have her bag??”

I'm not a fan of needles but I'm not as bad as Cara either. I would rather just drink some water than take the needle.

I liked TJ's line to Mattie about stopping smoking.

I would guess it has to do with their heart rates, blood pressure, and other vitals. Everyone besides Theo and Hunter (who was going too slow to get truly broken down) had moments of physical collapse. Georgia was by far the worst though. She definitely had a heatstroke and was asking if Bear was around. I think she was truly exhausted to the point of delirium.

Holy crap I can't stand Cara to the point I'd rather have Shane or Aneesa on than her now. Only complaint is they should've made it more of a penalty if you didn't complete one of those challenges.

Right. That’s what I assumed. I figured they give medical attention to everybody but if they actually have to intervene and DO something medically then the person is DQ’d. I assume with Natalie they just checked her vitals and gave her water. With Georgia she likely needed some sort of treatment. And with the IV bags coming later that night they couldn’t give one to her and let her continue since that would be an unfair advantage.

And yeah, her asking for Bear was sad. I honestly hope she is on the reunion show and sees/talks about how stupid he made her look.

I also can’t tell if she is cute/hot or not. Sometimes I think yes but sometimes I think yikes.
