So Homelander came from Soldier Boy. I’m thinking a woman had to carry baby Homelander to term. It would have to have been a super strong woman. Knowing this show, it had to be Stormfront, right?

He never has brought anything really. he served his purpose early in S1 when he sexually assaults Starlight and gets her whole arc going. And ever since then he's been borderline useless with awful storylines (like the church, his marriage, etc.).

A-Train is almost just as bad, only very slightly less so. He served his purpose literally in the opening minutes of the show, when he kills Hughie's girlfriend and kicks off the events going forward. He also gets the side-V thing started when he's taking it with his girlfriend, but ever since that side plot stopped (and he won the race), He's been useless. His only purpose this season seems to have been to rat out the Boys and their plans against HL. And with his apology to Hughie, and his getting his shot at Blue Hawk, his storyline seems complete (even if he isn't dead, which hopefully he is).

Can't wait to watch this episode, hopefully today. How many episodes are in this season?

8. Next week is the season finale.

Karl Urban confirmed season 4 starts filming in August.

Earlier this season Homelander says he was never born; he was just poured out of a test tube. I don't know if that is even possible or if he was mistaken, but I assume that is what they are going with. He obviously has a mother, but I don't think a woman carried him to "birth".

Damn, that sucks.

I may have to rewatch the whole series in six months or so to get my dose of The Boys.

No way HL dies now. Soldier Boy, maybe, but this new dynamic can be the focal point for next season.

Yeah, changes things a bunch.

Soldier Boy is a prick, but he's not going to kill his son. He straight out said that. So that puts him at odds with Butcher and Huey.
Homelander, on the other hand, would have no qualms killing Soldier Boy, father or no. So, I think that's the direction we're going with that.

I find it comical that Starlight's Twitter account would keep Homelander from killing, or at the very least capturing her. Clearly a millenial point of view written into that. And it's crazy that she'd even risk it- the consequences would be that she would be starting WW3, with Homelander taking over as supreme God-Emperor; all for Kimiko.

And along that subplot, why not take more than 1 V dose, anyway? Take a few- power up Huey and MM, at the very least. Huey's debatable, since he is obsessed with his new power and could get jealous- a risk to become a villain. But MM would be a great ally.

I had the same thought. Why wouldn't she take a bunch. I guess taking one will go unnoticed and taking a bunch would draw attention.

Have you been watching the show? MM would never take V.

I've watched, have you?

MM is the most opposed to taking it, but he's also the most obsessed with making things right. Butcher just wants to kill supes, Huey is past his grief from season 1 and now just wants to have Starlight.

MM sits around, wringing his hands helplessly, as everything goes wrong. He was all-in when they thought there was a magic gun that could do it, but now that's been proven a myth. He spends every moment worrying about his daughter's safety, even though he's now lost her.

Just my opinion, he's 100% the guy who eventually takes it, for the sole purpose of ridding the world of the others, and then taking himself out after it's done. It almost seems like he knows that is the way to go, and he's been avoiding it, wanting another option... but in the end will do what he must.

MM would take it if it meant protecting loved ones. Especially his daughter from homelands or soilder boy. Giving his life in the process..he is ready to die for it imo

Especially if homelander and soilder boy team up

It seems like they are setting it up that his daughter's step-father takes her near Homelander when a huge battle is going on. He then decides that he needs to take it to save his daughter. He takes it, becomes terrifying, but eventually saves his daughter. Then, he either dies from it or becomes a completely new person when his daughter is terrified of him and doesn't want to be around him. Then, he'll be fully back with the Boys because he has nothing else.

I'll add that I love this show. It's silly and grotesque, but they do develop characters well. There are many levels to everyone. I've really enjoyed what they have done with Homelander, MM, Frenchie, and Kimiko.

I agree. MM will do anything to not let what happened to him once, ever happen again. It impacted his life too much and he has as much hate as butcher, just processes it differently.

No way does he let his daughter get hurt, just because of his pride/morals. He would sacrifice all that including himself to right a wrong, with a wrong even though its right.

Eta

What if it just gives him a Love Sausage or something

When that tentacle slapped her leg.

Great episode. Interesting that he’s keeping Maeve alive to harvest her eggs.

I noticed there was Compound V left over from Kimiko. Wonder if some of the boys are going to have to take on permanent powers so they don’t fry their brains.
