still think the actor playing Homelander should win an award. His presence as a god figure around everyone except Soldier Boy is phenomenal.
Having seen him in in Banshee and listening to how the rest of the cast talks about him he might not be acting very much.
Like the guy might just be a bit of a sociopath, but is hilarious to watch.

Have any of you heard him talk in interviews?

Seeing his reaction to an advertisement using Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy) is hilarious. He cracks up so bad he can barely breathe.

All the female characters are saying the cringiest lines. This show is written by 12 year old at this point.

tiktok: which cast member is most like their character
His character in Banshee was completely unhinged as well.
Beyond that I've got nothing so he might just be really good at playing unhinged violent characters.

The "bad guys" are so much better characters on this show. Love Homelander, Noir, Deep, Soldier Boy all of them. Butcher is fine, but Hughie, Starlight, Frenchie, Kimiko, I've gotten to where I don't like any of them and am cheering for them to lose.
I mean, that sort of happens, especially the longer something goes on like this. Villains and anit-heroes end up being much more compelling because the hero can only be heroic for so long before it gets repetitive.
Even in some comedies, the most morally gray character in the show ends up being the best one. Dramas, even more so - Tony Soprano, Walter White, etc.
The biggest issue for The Boys is that all but one of the heroes is never shown to have that gray morality that Butcher has. He's the most interesting because he has to make these calls, while for everyone else the black and white choices leave the audience with absolutely no guess as to what they'll do in any given situation.

For this to be the last season, this season is taking a really long time to get going. I feel like the only meaningful thing that has happened so far was the Boys escaping camp and A-Train dying, and that was all in episode 1.
It's been fun with this and Invincible airing on the same day the last few weeks, but Invincible is much better.

I mean, that obviously looks like they’re joking, busting balls. I’ve always heard he was a cool fun guy.

Antony Starr Arrested in Spain
quote:
The 46-year-old star was arrested in Spain’s Costa Blanca over an alleged pub fight that left a man needing four stitches.
quote:
Starr had gone on to threaten him in English, telling him: “You don’t know who you’ve messed with, you don’t know who I am and what you’ve done. “You’ve committed the mistake of your life and I’m going to look for you. I want to kill you.”

That was just one side of the story, as told by the Venezuelan chef who started the ruckus.

I mean, ok? He did get arrested though.
I think the question was whether the guy was possibly just playing an amplified version of himself like Will Ferrell in his comedies.
I’ve now provided two different publicly sourced pieces of evidence for something I don’t really care about in the first place so long as he’s not out eating babies or something, so by all means feel free to think whatever you want, I enjoy the guy as a performer either way.

I have an opinion that I have suspected for a while but am now pretty confident about. I think Mother's Milk (MM) is all a bunch of talk. He is a tough dude, but they talk about him, and he talks about himself, like he is just the baddest dude around and no one better ever mess with him. I think that is overblown.
When they got in the fight this week, Hughie was low key kicking MM's arse. Giving him all he wanted and then some.

I thought with A-Train dying that was going to lead into a lot more moments of massive upheaval. So far it's just these... and Soldier Boy being released.
Like you said, all the big stuff happened in the first episode.

He is SO much cooler in the comic. It's one of the few characters where the comic version is 1000% better.

No, only 1. That first thing was so obviously a joke that you would look stupid trying to assert it.
Check here if you are asserting it: [ ]
