So I was randomly in the process of binge watching The Wire as the riots have started.

Given me interesting perspectives

Literally the first thing I thought of. On a related note, I have totally added the expression "Behind this shite" to my repertoire since watching The Wire...

Hell Jimmy, I'm gonna lose my job behind this shite.

When they were interviewing people the accents brought it all back for me.

If carver, herc, and prezbo were still running the Western that shite would have squashed real quick.

Dumbass Herc would've incited a bigger riot.

I sworn I seen Clay Davis's attorney on CNN

He is the lawyer for family of the guy that got killed.

On a side note I had no idea that the Homicide detective Norris was once the police commissioner for Baltimore.

Literally everyone who's seen The Wire thought about The Wire during this whole ordeal, I'd imagine.

I thought about living there, and my friends who still do. South Baltimore has largely been spared, and that's where my best friend lives, and he's never been so thankful for the giant body of water separating him from downtown.

I did think about how this totally violates the rules of the Game. Stringer would be pissed.

Dude, no.

Herc is a moron and would've arrested a preacher trying to calm the riot and Presbo would've capped a cop or kid and made it worse.

The game has changed. Ain't no honor in it anymore. The Code disappeared with Marlo and the new breed of hood.

There you go, giving a frick when it's not your turn to give a frick.

Yeah all 3 of those guys suck as cops. Prez is good if you keep his arse in the office. I did like how he became a Teacher though.

I would take Sydnor all day.

And B-More rioting because of Ofc Walker lol

Meh. Carver was alright, usually. Matured some and made lieutenant.

Syndor was the best overall cop on the team. Griggs was second. Lester was probably great murder police back in the day - as Bunk is now. McNulty is a great instinctive cop, but totally insane and unstable. Daniels is a great leader, but was handicapped by his career ambitions.

Landsman is also a great leader, in his own way.

Just finished the show earlier this week. What a great show. Even the lack of finality was enjoyable.
