The Baltimore Riots got me thinking about "The Wire".

I've never been to Baltimore before. But watching the news coverage got me thinking [Especially VICE Coverage] about scenes from The Wire and just how realistic that show was.

Also, "Mom of the year" grabbing her son off the corner reminded me of the time Namond's mom went crazy on him. [Granted the situations were completely different]

Did anyone else have flashbacks?

If shite like this happened in The Wire I would have rolled my eyes.

Strange times we're living in, stranger than fiction.

I've been thinking about the wire a lot too, with all that's going on up there. Great show

Bunny Colvin would've let them burn down Hamsterdam but nothing else.

First thing I thought but Namond's mom would've been pissed he wasn't looting.

The one scene that really sticks out to me is when the people are throwing shite out of their windows at the cops, and that kid loses his eye from the stupid cop. And of course, they cover it up.

Damn dude...didn't think about that. But that's pretty accurate.

They wouldn't be having riots if Hamsterdam and Omar were still around.

Not joking, I started playing the theme song last night when the Police Commissioner was talking.

I have barely watched the riots but I sworn I seen Clay Davis's attorney on CNN.

I hated Namond and his mom.

And I can see Clay being interviewed on TV saying sheeeittt.

If B-More had any cops who gave a frick like McNulty, they would have solved the Gray killing.

I wonder how many of us rely on The Wire as our only frame of reference for understanding Baltimore.

No way Omar would have allowed this to happen.

Literally everyone who's seen The Wire thought about The Wire during this whole ordeal, I'd imagine.

Some of the headlines that have been around displaying like "police backing down" and letting them do their thing in a certain area or whatever definitely drew my mind to The Wire and Hamsterdam

I've seen tweets from some people telling the people that only know Baltimore through The Wire to shut up.
