Makes sense, he was privleged to classified information. Even though we are talking about the 70-80's there may be certain methods and information the CIA or FBI wants classified.
ETA: The illegals were not the primary espionage agents of the Soviet Union. Most were rather useless but there is probably 40-50 couples in the US now according to a report I read. Second generation illegals would be a primary reason for having the illegals here to begin with if you wanted to infiltrate the CIA or FBI.

the problem with the show is it should be on showtime or HBO so I can see tits.

Finished season 2 last night, good show. I wonder which direction the will decide to go since they each seem to be leaning different directions. The show would change drastically if they choose one path and I don't really see them going that direction until they see then end of the show coming.
