Yes, because it’s simply not good and normal people find shoehorning in gender and racial political messaging off putting when all they want to do is enjoy watching a good story.

Where did I ever say it's not happening? I'm well aware it's happening. The difference is the opposite of what you said though, there are people (yourself included, apparently) who let shoehorning and messaging of any degree distract them from a good story. And then there are people who don't allow it to distract them from a good story, or just the story in general. Good or bad. Especially when it doesn't hit you right over the head constantly with it.
I don't even know if this show will be any good, I enjoyed the first two episodes, but I enjoyed the first two episodes of Secret Invasion as well and ended up hating that show. Same may happen here. I have no clue, but like I said, so far I'm enjoying it. Is it perfect? Of course not.

personally, i dont even care if it's good or not. i'm not going to watch it. i have zero good will left towards Disney Star Wars. i am beyond "fatigue" or even "apathy". they have done so much deliberate damage to the original IP, that i am now actively hoping for their failure. if Disney burns to the ground tomorrow, either literally or metaphorically, i will celebrate their demise.
