HBO has fallen off a fricking cliff

It would be impossible to maintain that level of success but HBO still puts out more quality shows than anyone. They just also put out more duds than they have in the past.

The catalog of of quality shows they've put out in the the past 10 years is just insane.

Did anyone ever watch their movies? I saw the first one.

Nice idea, and I watched the series....but you learned, there's not an abundance of talent in the world.

I enjoyed it and wish Matt and Ben would still do it. But the last one killed that.

I watched that Stolen summer one. They only had a million dollar budget so it kind of showed. The Battle of Shaker Heights was ok. I actually went to a little arthouse theater to watch it.

I never got to see the third one but watched the making. It was entertaining.

The last one, The Leisure Class was absolute dogshit movie and series. This time they had a script but selected a director. The selected director was a pretentious kook that ended up changing the movie to his script of a short he already completed. Insisted the movie be shot on film vs digital. The producer had a disagreement with Matt Damon of racial stereotypes. This director wrangled to get everything his way and the movie was garbage.

I miss HBO World Championship Boxing as well. Was great to sit back and get loaded watching a fight before going out on a Saturday night in my 20’s.

How is Oz? I've thought about starting that one before, but never pulled the trigger on it.

I just watched for the first time last fall.
Pretty damn good and many moments of true WTF.
Seems like being set in prison you don’t feel its age as much (lack of fashion, culture, etc that would otherwise date it).
I’ll probably rewatch soon.

Good to know, thanks.

I've loved other HBO shows and always felt like one set in prison would be kinda cool. And I remember hearing nothing but good things as it aired. Just didn't know if it holds up or whatever. But if you watched it last year and already want to watch it again, that bodes well for it.

I may start it as a "put it on when I don't know what else to watch" sort of show.
