Agree.

I also think Rise of the Machines had a lot of potential. But horrible casting, and crappy attempts at comedy completely ruined it.

Agree on both points. They weren't terrible movies, just mismanaged and misaligned to the timeline, so none of it makes sense anymore.

Terminator 3 was OK but hampered by the fact it destroyed everything that came before it.

Terminator and Terminator:Judgement Day= There is no fate but what we make.

Rise of the Machines: LOL, just kidding! Everything is inevitable.

Sorry, but I liked Arnold better as the bad guy in T1. It was one of his most iconic and memorable roles. He just can't be stopped. He is the face of horror. Then he flips to a good guy. Sorry, that's just plain fan service. Bring him back as a bad guy. Better story.

Yeah, not happening.

At least move the story along. The public is losing interest in the same "new Terminator vs. human/Terminator hybrid and a Connor" storyline.

I'd rather stub each and every one of my toes simultaneously on the coffee table than sit through another pointless sequel heavy on action light on substance that, in addition, pushes feminist propaganda.

And it isn't even remotely necessary because the franchise already has a strong female character. But it's not enough. We need a flat chested female bad a$$ with a pixie cut doing cartwheels on a pickup truck and throwing javelins through a murderous male robot complete with shitty CGI and cheesy posturing.

HARD PASS.

Probably the best way to describe it. I can still watch it for some really good moments.

That said, I think it had SO much potential that got wasted. Getting away from the formula they kept milking and removing time travel entirely (except when referencing the events of the first 2 movies) was the right way to go, IMHO, but then they dropped the ball.

It looks as bad as genisys, poor cgi and the bad terminator gets the crap beaten out of him in the trailer which makes him non threatening. The terminator is supposed to be an unstoppable killing machine, not something that anyone, even another machine, can dominate easily

You can hate on Genisys all you want but I love seeing the future war.

I don't get the hate for Genisys. It was well written.

They had this great idea by creating an alternate timeline by sending another terminatior back prior to the original.

The sequel could have shown us a different take on everything leading up to Judgment Day. Then, since time travel is possible, the machines could have figured out how to universe hop (which should also be possible) and go back to destroy all versions of John Connor. Leading to the eventual dark fate on humanity.

More convoluted is not the answer.

The T800 is not the bad guy. Skynet is. The T800 is merely a weapon operating under the parameters set by its programmer.

Honestly, why not? And why not have him get sent too far back?
Records from before the war are described as poor. Maybe they don't know where the target was from just it's age. So terminator gets sent back to when the target is very, very young and has to spend years hunting for the target, thus explaining Arnold's age as they did in genisys

The terminator would be more animal, less human. Not grooming to fit in, wearing clothes for decades as he searches, just hunting. And he needs to be lethal again. No more slinging people around, just kill them

My only fear would be that it might wind up like a hobo terminator, but it's an interesting concept. How does a terminator do when it's in the past for years hunting it's target?
