I prefer predator. I just like the story though.

Predator is a tighter story and smaller scale story, but, if you want to watch a perfe t action movie, that's it.
T2 is a grand scale perfect film.
Aliens is way up there, too, but it's not paced as well as T2 and obviously didn't have the same kind of budget.
McTiernan and Cameron are easily the best action directors.
Spielberg's stuff is more of in the "adventure" genre. Raiders snd Jurrasic Park are not action films.

Thats how I saw it. Although if someone called Raiders an action film, there isn't anything in the film or lacking from that could make me dispute them

If I had to pick just one, I'm choosing Predator. There's just nothing more bad arse than an alien systematically hunting down the baddest mother frickers on Earth just for the sport of it, knowing he could take them all out in one fell swoop if he wanted to.

From the moment I first saw the teaser trailer during the pre-movie "coming soons" -------> The moment my ticket stub was checked and I sat down in the theater to watch it....
T2 = the most excited/highest level of anticipation for a movie I've ever had.

I understand and fully know the importance and impact of die hard, but Road Warrior is simply one of the most revolutionary action films and pop culture pieces from the 80s.
It affirmed Mel Gibson as a superstar, and created basically its own dystopian genre in itself. Only Blade Runner is as impactful from that standpoint..
Die Hard just misses the "perfect action film" label for me because it takes a bit too long to get going.
You also never get Fury Road without Road Warrior.

Everyone's idea of the GOAT is going to be different. T2 is more in the SCI-Fi than what I personally would call an "Action Film".
The First Lethal Weapon, Die Hard are more of what I think of as "Action Films" but that's for me.

When people ask me what my favorite movie is. I always tell them it’s a tie between Jurassic Park and Terminator 2. Just depends on the mood I’m in.

Though way more recent than the majority of iconic action movies most would consider to be the best, Mad Max Fury Road was an amazing action movie from both an entertainment and technical standpoint
