Tenzing tells the story of the sherpa Tenzing Norgay who, along with Sir Edmund Hillary, was the first to summit Everest. Genden Phuntsok plays Tenzing, Tom Hiddleston plays Hillary, and Willem Dafoe plays expedition leader John Hunt.

I always thought it said something deeply true about humans how often Hillary and Tenzing were asked who ACTUALLY got to the top first.
But i like Tenzing's quote from his book where he finally answers it.

Also there was a recent documentary- got to find the name - where they believe climbers got to the summit in the 1920s. They died during descent.

Pretty cool. I have seen Everest from a tourist plane but would love to hike to Base Camp one day.

Mallory/Irvine. They just started finding their bodies, since nothing can decompose up there. No camera on Mallory's person. He brought one in case he got to the summit. Rumor is the Chinese nabbed it.

No clue, but that's a rumor going around. Google it and you can get some color on it. It's on the border of China & Nepal, so maybe it's going to be used as leverage in a border dispute, or push for more sharing of Everest tourism revenue. Who knows.
