I don’t think it’s really worth getting rid of Jonathan at this point. Yeah, he could go on an immunity challenge run, but his game is fairly one-dimensional. I say fairly because he does have a decent social game. His strategic skills are sorely lacking though and he’s not really in a power position to dictate the game. He will flounder during the jury questioning if it makes it to the finals.
Omar, Mike, and Drea are the theee biggest threats right now, with Lindsey not far behind. Omar’s ploy with Mike was a really risky move, and honestly kind of a dick move to do to Mike. But it worked out for him.

I was stunned to see Omar’s gf lol
And she even said she was surprised that he was still in the game.

He probably also thinks he can beat them all in the end. I think he beats Romeo and that might be it.
Probably Maryann too. I’m really surprised he didn’t go last night.
Going to be interesting, that’s for sure.
Omar is the one to beat in my opinion. Playing a really good game.

I think that will come back to bite him later.

It definitely won't come down to those two but she would give a crying racism final speech and there's no way CBS is letting the jury out alive if they didn't vote for her unanimously then.

It feels like Omar is actually the villain this whole time.

Yeah but he is doing a great job of not seeming like he is.

Great play all around to get rid of Hai, although I was hoping it would be Drea.
It was definitely smart play to get rid of Hai. He just messed up a little with Mike and Omar and that did it.
I hope Jonathan wins immunity of something happens that he doesn't leave. He's not stupid. He just doesn't have the same level of social game as Mike and Omar. I'm still ready for Maryanne to go. I'm sure she's a really nice person, but she is annoying.

The straight up lie to Mike (and Lindsay) about Hai saying Mike was his puppet was a pretty damn villainous move. It worked perfectly too... he even got Mike all butthurt about Hai gunning for Rocksroy when that was actually Omar's plan. He's definitely playing a low-key villain game very well.

It was pretty funny how she went through a 10-minute (seemingly) rambling spiel about how Survivor is like human Jenga, and when Jeff asked Johnathan if he followed all of that he just said, "yes."

But was he wrong? Loved the simplicity.

Omar continues to dominate, but Drea throws him completely under the bus on her way out. What a shitty thing to do.

Drea was a great competitor. She probably would have won if they didn’t vote her out.
But damn. What she did on the way out was very shitty.

How does this season rank thus far? High? Low? Average? Above average? Meh?
I’ve really enjoyed it, but I don’t have a lot to compare it to. I thought this episode was really good.
I watched most of the first 10 seasons long ago. Then I decided to start back up again in recent years. I’ve seen 4 of the last 6 (though I did not watch last season).
I’m curious how big survivor fans view this season.
I think I may have to go back and watch some of the more highly rated past seasons soon.
Edit:
I was trying to avoid spoilers, but I guess there’s no need. Anyone reading has already watched. Jonathan beasting out another win in agony against the next best competitor. Lindsay surviving the twist. Idol swaps. Failed advantages. Peculiar torch snuffing with people thrown under the bus. This episode had it all. And now there’s 3 idols in play (plus the next immunity necklace) with only 6 people remaining.

Tonight, he stopped mid-prayer to go talk strategy and Drea called him out on it.
I wonder if his girlfriend was Johnny Fairplay’s grandmother 2.0? They showed pics of him with his dad but I think his dad passed away several years ago.
Will Omar return Mike’s idol? In a way, Mike played it to stay in the game so he shouldn’t be too mad if Omar keeps it.
Good episode.

I think this season has been great. Tonight's episode was a real high. The only way it could have been better was if Drea somehow knew Mike would give Omar the idle and asked Omar at tribal if he had one.
It made absolutely no sense to tell Omar about the advantage. She could've kept it to herself, stole the idol, then voted for whoever she wanted.

It’s been a good season with a mostly likable cast that are there to play. The only dud still left is Romeo. MaryAnne is annoying but is at least playing the game, and I think she’s a genuinely good person.
Not sure it goes in the great realm, but maybe above average.

I'm curious about the point in giving it to Omar. Why not bury it somewhere in camp. Is that a background rule that you have to bring all idols to tribal?

Probably so. There’s surely a lot of production behind-the-scenes info they give to contestants that we’re not privy to. Once Omar told him about her advantage, I’m sure he had questions and they probably made him aware that he’s still “in possession of it” whether it’s on him or not. So you in effect have to bring it with you to tribal.
Or another scenario, maybe knowing what he knew, he may have given it to Omar to play it on his behalf if he felt unsafe and vulnerable tonight.
I enjoyed that episode. Good tv

He could have buried it, but if Omar has it (and Mike really trusts Omar) then in theory Omar can give it back to Mike to play or Omar can play it on Mike.
There's a rule where if a player finds an idol or advantage and then buries it, and another player then finds it, production will step in to let them know it has been claimed. Not sure if it has ever happened.
Drea really fricked up telling Omar about her advantage. If she didn't blab she could have stolen Mike's idol and stuck around another week.
