The mom was putting it on kind of heavy guys come on.

I didn’t mind it and like that they just seemed like everyday normal people that you might run into in that area. Now I see that the accent was based on Kansas so that’s cool.

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that it would go till at least September. Somebody just said the 26th so that’s better.

That's good, but I just don't like announcing it because some folks will end up just waiting for digital instead of watching it in theaters.

They announce it because of pre-order sales. I guess they figure that will outweigh the effect it would have on the theater. No idea if they’re right or not.

I hate these short release windows, especially when a movie still has some theatrical legs. I get that they want the movie advertising to carry over for VOD, but I still think it's kinda like killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.

Oh yeah. Because now you’re advertising it all over the place. You can pre-order it probably on Amazon prime Xbox, etc..

I remember waiting AGES what felt like a year until I saw that black Jurassic Park VHS box display at Walmart

It was
June 1993 theater release
October 1994 VHS

My gripe with the movie was that Superman got his arse kicked for 95% of the fighting scenes and only kicked arse for 5%. Although that 5% includes the spinning laser beams was badass.

I’ve seen it 4 times and that’s a huge exaggeration. He loses the first fight. Does fine against the Kaiju, then destroys the engineer, the raptors and eventually ultraman. The fights were close though.

What's wrong with that?

Watched it tonight. The movie just never stopped to breathe. It’s everything we thought it’d be from the original trailer. Just a lot going on. Even when Superman & Lois are having a moment, they had to put some inter dimensional thing in the background. They had so many moments where it felt like a great movie was about to happen but they just stepped on themselves.

Only one scene with Clark? We didn’t even get a scene where he opened his shirt. Jor El being a bad guy. The theme never being truly used only teased. Non-stop CGI shite all over the place.

Reeve’s first two movies are still the standard.

Just not a fan of world building. Just give Superman the true stand alone movie he deserves. How in the hell is Batman supposed to exist in this fantastical Earth where there are pocket universes and tech that is borderline magic?

The casting was great though which is why the movie was frustrating. None of them got a chance to really stretch their legs.

Uhh? Batman and Superman do exist in the same world.. this isn’t TDK

Awesome scene visually and tells a story. It’s like you’re a citizen of Metropolis and you’re used to these things

It was way better than the trailer with context. None of the supporting characters take away from the film, only add to it. ie, Mr Terrific and Guy Gardner were highlights

don’t really care about seeing Clark in my Superman movie. Maybe in a sequel once the world is established

I prefer the MOS version, but they might be able to do some interesting things with it

I listened to both because I initially thought this and the new one is better IMO

Batman already exists in a world of technological and literal magic. He has since the 1940’s.

He got his arse whooped first fight. Healed and went back. Got arse whipped again. Kaiju fight he got help so no full fight by himself. He was losing to engineer by suffocation. Had to fly to space (not sure why engineer didn’t pass out and that release the nanites). Ultraman should’ve done more damage if he is a clone since he is getting close to the sun also. Just looked like he was flailing at Superman and doing nothing. Then was getting his arse beat again by ultraman till his “brain not brawn” schtick which just meant calling Krypto. Not sure why his “brains” didn’t just laser beam the bots flying around ultra man before….

I enjoyed the movie but this is not a good representation of Superman’s strength. He always needed help with every single enemy. This seemed like he was just another superhero and not THE superhero.

And I also wanted to say the calling out of moves by Lex was the dumbest shite. Just put it in a program and allow it to happen. His thought to action would be so delayed it would’ve been useless.

He ended up killing Ultraman (maybe), taking out the engineer, destroyed 100 raptors, and got some good hits on the Kaiju. The last fight with Ultraman was back-and-forth. Through some of it he had to take on two people because Mr. Terrific got pancaked. I’m not saying that he kicked everybody’s arse. But it definitely wasn’t 95%. 95% is an extreme exaggeration. Yes I agree that the fights were tough. And I actually like that about the movie. you’re not gonna please everybody. A lot of people would complain that Superman was too powerful. There’s no way you could possibly agree that he got his arse kicked 95% of the time lol.

in which comic? In which movie? Because it was about the same as it was in Man of steel. Honestly, it was about as good as I think you can make it and still make the character interesting. Otherwise he’s just a plot device like he was in Justice league. It’s a fine line.

Yeah, I agree about the lex calling out the moves stuff. That was kind of stupid.
