Drunk Super Girl was hilarious

I liked it a lot. The leads were good, the plot was just contrived enough to accept for a comic book movie but nothing that ridiculous, and while goofier than the Snyder version Gunn didn’t go full Guardians and held back.
The need to give Lois something to do in the end and not be a bystander or damsel felt tacked on but it was literally all of 2 minutes from when her the rest get in the ship so you barely notice it.

I thought it was great.
Only thing that I didn’t like were the Kents. I can’t believe they made them slow hillbilly hicks. Supposedly they used Richard from Howard Stern show’s parents as the model. Ridiculous.

just saw this movie in IMAX and absolutely loved it. It’s fun, colorful, and absolutely full of heart. It’s much more faithful adaptation of the comics than most movies before it, and I believe that’s best way to go about making a Superman movie.
I can’t wait for Gunn to develop everything and what he can do with Batman.

I liked it a lot 4/5. The casting was great, it was colorful, fun, it didn’t feel like a setup for a movie that might come out in 2029. Reminded me a lot of the first Sam Rami Spider-Man.

That’s exactly how I felt.

A Mr. Terrific show seems like a good idea

I'd watch. Mr. Terrific stole the movie for me. He also had the best battle scene. It reminded me of when Star-Lord puts on his headphones and goes to work.

The one thing is you gotta be a little picky about these shows….Marvel is in the state it’s in because there were too many bullshite TV shows.

I’ve gotten back in to Superman big time in the past 6-8 months to escape from Trump. I have a feeling I’m not the only person in that boat. (This is also a sign that the “Superman is too woke” stuff ain’t sticking)

Superman movie back in 2022, calling it “too woke”
That's awesome, if true. Huge step in the correct direction.

I really liked this. To be honest, I had low expectations going in so that probably helped. But this movie is going to do very well. If FF bombs, Marvel is in big trouble.
The cast was very good. Mr. Terrific was a standout. Of course Rachel Brosnahan was flawless as Lois. Well done.

The good: Mr. Terrific was cool. Lois was great. Lex was fantastic. Superman was very good - just not the brightest bulb/sharpest knife. Green Lantern and Hawkgirl were fine.
The bad: Jimmy was annoying and not the character I know. The Kents were just bad - waaaay too redneck - I mean they called each other “Ma” and “Pa” and Ma seemed to have a southern accent at times (no Kansas there). I have no idea who Steve at the Daily Planet was - a very unneeded character who added absolutely nothing to the film.
The screenplay was just off - too many characters, not enough development on some rushed scenes, rushed plot lines (like Superman going from hero to goat in like 30 seconds and then from goat to hero in like 1 minute). That whole Lex wanting to be a king thing was stupid. The Black Hole - c’mon.
They also seemed to just throw things together to show a good visual shot.
Overall - 65% rating (barely fresh)

No, they weren’t dumb hick country folk like Gunn claims he saw while growing up. That’s the problem with Gunn, is that he equates farming and being in “flyover country“ to mean unsophisticated & stereotypical backwards rubes.
Just look at how the Kents have been portrayed on screen and then compare that to what we see in this movie.
Glenn Ford
Kevin Costner
… and now this guy?
Hell, even John Schneider played him on Smallville.
