Really? You have no idea why they would force that storyline? Seriously?
There is only one reason I can think of for them to push those two together when it is obvious there is no chemistry between them. And it's because of that one reason that I fear we are stuck with it for a while.

this was my first thought. I'm sure it helps that the two actors worked together before. But, i like them much better as a couple than kara and james or kara and winn.
imagine little SuperFlash babies !

I understand the reasoning behind wanting to create that storyline but it ultimately could lead to the show being cancelled. The writers/directors/producers all have to realize that. If that is is finished product viewers see every week and absolutely see that there is zero chemistry, they have to see it on the set and when viewing during the editing process. They are in the business of trying to have successful ratings and this forced storyline will have the ratings go downward. So for that reason I am asking why do they keep doing this? Do they not want the show to succeed for other seasons?

That was a pretty good episode. Finale next week looks like it's going to be awesome. I knew J'onn wasn't dead. There's no way they would kill him off like that.
I just hate how they keep teasing Superman in this show. We were so fricking close to seeing him in full blooded live action. It'll happen eventually and hopefully in the finale but probably next season.

Is the show going to have a second season? For me the episode was kind of meh. I hate the Alex character. Supposedly very intelligent but makes the dumbest decisions that have horrible consequences. Then afterwards she will regret doing what she did and say she should not have done and put other people in danger.

Either that or it gets moved to the CW. I would be surprised if it gets canceled.

Alex may have good intentions but she is very high on hubris and arrogance and calls it being brave and wearing the white hat. In the real world, she would understand her limitations and respect them and leave the battles to more capable individuals.

Have they actually said that they would show Superman in person on the show? WB/DC is pretty picky when it comes to letting certain characters mix between their movies & tv (even though they have a Barry Allen in both). If they haven't already stated in an interview or something that they plan on actually showing Superman in person, I doubt we get more than just teases.

Yes exactly that is what a normal human would do with Alex intellect level : know her limits and know what she can and cannot do. The writers are just like "frick it" and have her do some insane bullshite that insult the intelligence of the audience so they can have drama.
I did read that if it did get cancelled from CBS it might be picked up by CW. The article I read which was posted on March 29th said that the amount of viewers has declined every week since the series premier. It was under 6 million viewers and unless there were massive spikes in viewers over the last 3 episodes it could see where CBS cancels the show.

I imagine if Supergirl gets renewed and gets better ratings, Warner bros and DC would be more enticed to actually casting him and putting him on TV for a possible spinoff. They already had a terrific Superman ready to go in Brandon Routh as we are long enough removed from the Returns movie but he's playing fricking atom on legends and that bridge is already burnt.
But of course, a new idea I would have for a comic book show is one centering around a superhero couple and Superman and Wonder Woman are the perfect characters to do that. Can you imagine each other dealing with Metropolis and Themyscira/Olympus? That's an incredible opportunity right there.

I like that idea of Superman and Wonder Woman as a super power couple having their own show.

I was skeptical of Supergirl when I first started watching. But I am now hooked. I like the balance between super and humanity, the interactions between characters, and the way they aren't shy about featuring other super heroes in the stories (Jonn Jonzz, hints of Superman, and crossover CW's Flash). Supergirl is in my top 5 tv comic book shows; hoping it keeps going for many more seasons to come.

Superman/Wonder Woman has plenty of precedent in the comics as well. See all of the Elseworlds where it happened (Kingdom Come, Red Son, etc.) along with New 52 where there was an on-going Superman/Wonder Woman comic that explored the relationship.
I would love to see this play out on screen somehow, but it's never going to happen because DC has it in their heads that Lois Lane is Superman's end all be all and will sabotage any other relationship he will ever have even though him having a relationship with a normal human is stupid since he's a functionally immortal planet mover (he will outlive any human by eons and he must remain in absolute control over his body at all times).

Why couldn't Maxwell Lord just make some more of those earwig things and put them on say... Jimmy, Winn, Superman, Alex and whomever might need them?

Most definitely, and it'll be on CBS. It's a sure bet. The ratings have been more than good enough.
I imagine Superman will eventually make an appearance, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tom Welling plays him.
This episode was a nice return to form after that fricked up crossover bullshite. Benoist is showing more range as an actress than I at first thought. She does mad/pissed off very well.
Although, it is confounding how this show can vary between half-assed and excellent in the space of just a few minutes. I'm sorry, but most of the villians are just shitty. One second it seems like a lame comic book come to life, and the next it seems like a damn good drama.
To me it seems all the best scenes involve Cat Grant in some fashion or the other.
I don't dislike the Jimmy Olsen character so much as the actor that's portraying him is horrible.
I didn't think they'd try and redeem Maxwell Lord. Seems they've got lots more planned for him in the future.

If Kara is the cute girl that you just want to take home to mom, Maxima in this episode is the woman that looks like that could really break your dick and frick the brakes off of you like a real woman. She just oozed sex everywhere.

I would be and honestly I hope Welling isn't the guy as he's in his mid 30s and we need someone younger than that and he didn't even try to wear the suit for the finale.
Smallville is its own separate universe and reality. There's just no way to shoehorn him into this show even with the alternate earth concept.

Maxima is supposed to ooze sex.

I love Superman and will always consider him the greatest hero ever but man he is insane for not getting into bed with that. But then again, it just shows just how pure and strong of will he really is. He really is incorruptible as he beat the evil devil vagina magic that will always capture lesser men than him.
