I’m perusing twitter. There are a LOT of upset feminists out there about this movie, specifically to the “Blame it on toxic misogynist men” point.

They basically hate anyone who likes anything Snyder and are making it a Snyder is the right wing cult of DC vs their feminist Gunn wing. Very weird behavior

The New York Times flat out says that the movie is failing because of misogyny.

This type of thought process makes me want to actively root for this to fail.

I hate that, because I truly love DC Comics and want there to be good DC Comics movies (not just good Batman movies).

Should have made it a Lobo movie and made supergirl a supporting role.

James Gunn has shite the bed on everything hes done since GotG2. I dont want him anywhere near a Lobo solo Movie.

Open the checkbook, give Deadpool writers and producers the helm, and watch Jason Momoa make Marvel money with that Lobo flick.

I think Gunn is out after Man of Tomorrow…which will be just like Superman in that it’s a modest success but nowhere near where it should be.

They won’t let him touch Batman or even Wonder Woman and waste more of their time & money.

I realize they have to come up with some excuse for the bomb, but there doesn’t always have to be some deeper meaning for people not wanting to see it. Whatever happened to people just not wanting to see a movie because they don’t think it will be a good movie? Like Proximo said, very weird behavior.

I agree because I was rooting for Gunn hard until Peacemaker 2. I don’t think they could say the same. The above clip.. what was Gunn thinking?

the annoying thing if Gunn leaves, it’s still going to be like politics for DC since they’ll relate any Ellison hire to MAGA like they’re doing with Snyder. And they’ll actively hope it fails just to spite him

More Gunn goofiness, Gorilla Grodd can’t be too intimidating

looking for comedic actors to play Gorilla Grodd.

Jack Black is probably out of the price range, but someone similar? The goofy humor so many are trying to mirror from Joss Whedon can't be replicated easily. And most folks don't understand or grasp, Joss balanced his comedic moments with very serious & earnest events as well. This is where Gunn in particular fails. He can't generate any reason for fans to care about the characters or the story because to him, it's all just make believe.

Gorilla Grodd is NOT a funny character. Trying to make him a joke would be a colossal failure.

Don't know a thing about this character. Can you tell us about him?

Gorilla with telepathy, telekinesis, superhuman strength, and genius-level intellect. In the comics he is from a city of gorillas called "Gorilla City" and debuted as a Flash villain. Is usually part of the various iterations of antagonist teams like "Legion of Doom."

He is a legitimate threat and not at all a joke character.

But they're looking for a comic actor? Oh, Gunn

The Flash TV show actually did a good job with Gorilla Grodd.

It makes sense to me that Gunn would like and include this character because he was part of the pantheon of Super Villains (The Legion of Doom) from the Superfriends Saturday morning cartoons. And that campy cartoon style matches my impression of what Gunn thinks of the DC universe.
