Oh, that was good. That final scene with Kendall and Shiv was powerful.

I feel like Kendall's eventually going to take a leap in one of those terrace scenes.

Oh yeah i agree. My mind may be playing tricks on me but the first time they showed him up there, there was no glass blockade to the railing, but the final scene they put it up? Or was it there the whole time?

The thing that didn't ring true with this episode was Ken and Logan upping the offer to Holly Hunter in half-billion dollar increments. Even she stopped them by saying "you're bidding against yourself."

They weren't gaining an advantage with this strategy and they would have known better.

I actually think they were gaining an advantage. They knew they could pay more to begin with but the big unknown is whether or not they were EVER going to be sellers. By continuing to up the offer (but still staying within their range) they make her flinch and lose her position that they aren't selling. After that it just becomes a matter of how much.

Roman and Gerri’s phone call had me sooooo messed up

I think I drank too much while watching Sunday and am drawing a blank here...what was the gist of their phone call?

I noticed same, but I believe the second scene was at the office, whereas the first was the condo above the one where he's letting Greg live maybe?

Roman jerks it while she berates him. I thought he was a closeted gay, but I guess it's weirder than that.

I'm not sure how bidding against yourself and directing those bids at an individual who cannot pull the trigger on the sale, strengthens your position.

Even Holly Hunter's character seemed to be embarrassed for them.

I was thinking they were simply showing how serious they were with the number, and then the trust matter with Logan. Bc once it was all said and done that was all it boiled down to in the scene where they put Holly in her car....the number and trust.

It's either that or they put up glass barriers after the segment producer shot himself at work the day before.

Heck, I guess I didn't even pick up on what the shot ended up being from. Im sure I was probably grazing the kitchen for snacks.

So suicide may be a bit of a foreshadowing theme. I guess in a succession scenario (this type "succession" not literal estate law type) some of the competing heirs must fall out of contention eventually for their to ultimately be a settled outcome/hierarchy. So it would seem one of the kids has to go sometime soon.

Given that the first shot of the episode was surveillance footage of Kendall, I took it as those watching him knew he kept going up there and put up the glass barrier to prevent a jump.

It seems pretty clear that Logan is concerned Kendall will kill himself which is partially why he is including him in the business, Kendall says as much to Shiv.

After the shooting when Logan asks him where he has been and Kendall nonchalantly answers, I am sure Logan found out he had been spending time on the roof and thus they put up the giant glass barrier. Logan also knows about him stealing, insinuating he is having him followed, probably on a suicide watch.

I think Kendall is destined for a big turnaround with the way this is going. That or he ultimately kills himself.

The Kendall droopy depressed bit is getting old. Snap out of it.

The phone call was weird as shite. What’s their relationship?

The reason I figured the first terrace scene in the ep was at his new condo was bc he entered into an unfinished and vacant space with a backdoor key code. Speculating even further, if it was his newly purchased condo, it doesnt look like he's actually trying to do anything with it, nor has he seemed to be in any sort of place in life to be motivated to get into a bachelor pad like that.

Thus he possibly purchased it just for the terrace, one that no one else can just come in and add further enclosure to.

The moment when Kendall walked in and Logan said something along the lines of “Son, are you alright?” in a seemingly genuine and gentle paternal tone was quite possibly the first time we’ve seen Logan as a nice guy.

As for Jerri and Roman, I think Jerri is an entirely normal person who is smart and driven and as put up with weirdos, creeps, and sexists to rise up to becoming a powerful media exec. She is treating Roman like all of the other men who got in her way over the past three decades.

As for Roman, I don’t think even the writers really know but they give us amusing clues like the puppy crate, how Roman doesn’t have sex with his girlfriend but is definitely straight, and now how he reacts to verbal humiliation when someone he respects calls him out on his lack of intelligence and experience.

We barely see their real mom (who was a complete bitch in the few scenes at the wedding), but it seems like Roman’s front as an a-hole with quick wit is a really a cover for a guy who wants to be dominated by a powerful woman.

I think Tom does like him, perhaps sees him as a kindred spirit inasmuch as they're both "in the family" yet still outsiders who will likely never be part of the inner sanctum. Might also see Greg as a protege....it's clear to me that Tom is proud of Greg's seeming evolution of killer instinct.
