I do expect one main character to die though so it can be a talking point for the show.

IMO Steve will sacrifice himself to either save Nancy or Dustin. Jonathan is a maybe. But I think it's either him or Steve, and Steve kinda makes more sense.

I'm not sure how Hopper survives, and I hope he doesn't. Not because I don't like him, just more because it would seem fitting that he goes out a hero of sorts.

I do think Will dies as well. And good riddance as far as I'm concerned. But I suspect he will somehow die protecting or saving Mike or Joyce (maybe Jonathan, but I doubt it).

Outside shot Eleven dies, but I doubt it since she and Mike were sort of the main storyline relationship-wise from the outset of the show.

Nancy won't die because she's special ops now. I don't think Mike or Lucas will die. Dustin is a maybe, but I don't see them killing him off since he's such a crowd favorite. No way they kill Holly. I think Max is also safe since they easily could have (and should have) killed her last season. I think Robin is also safe for multiple reasons (including NF's politics). I also think Joyce is safe as well; not only has she been front and center because of Will, but she's also the love interest of Hopper and if he dies she is safe IMO.

I think that's all of the "main"-ish characters and my thoughts. But it better be at least some (i.e. more than one) of them, or this show will drop in quality big time for me. You can't keep having all of these "life or death" scenarios for main characters where there is literally just no death. it cheapens it.

If nobody dies in the end, it will def tarnish the series. Like you said, one of the main 10 characters who have been there from the start has to die

I've heard this going around. Why?

It's an 80's show.
The main characters don't die, they succeed.

The Duffers did an interview about major deaths and they said they'd only do it if it made sense story wise. They don't want to kill of an MC just for shock value, I think the major death will be either Steve or Jonathan and it'll have something to do with the tower they climbed earlier in the season. Either Steve will stop Jonathan from sacrificing himself because he knows him and Nancy are probably going to get married or Jonathan will stop him and give the ring to Steve to give to Nancy after he dies

Yea I don’t see them killing Steve or Dustin. If you want spin offs you need them

So the Upside Down has basically just been a wormhole this whole time?

They’re def laying the seeds for El to either die or for to have a fake out death and she essentially disappear on her own

Holy shite just finished episode 4 the Sorcerer. This was a top 4 stranger things episode with Dear Billy, The Vanishing of Will Byers, and the massacre at Hawkins Lab.
Nice little shot of The Sword in The Stone movie at the beginning.

Fat Derek was great once again. Was wondering if we ever would see 8 again being that was the only bad episode of the entire series. I much rather her with a shaved head. Her trashy friends hurt that episode so much. So glad to see Max back. She deserves so much better than dying off at the end of Season 4.

So many great moments I don't even know where to begin. Vecna coming out. Vecna fingers going thru that soldier.

Erica is definitely a dipshit and I wish Vecna would have killed her off last season.

Season 5 is doing exactly what I wanted. Every episode was better than the one before. It's not rushing to tell its story like most shows in its final season.

Finished EP5.

I love Dustin’s line to end the episode. “It will take everything and It will take all of us with it!” Wow, so their lives are possibly in danger Shocker.

Ep 6 is really good. But man 7 is so bad. We might be hitting a Game of Thrones level of disappointment for me here. It really feels like the Duffers wanted this shite to end and just rushed through it despite getting the extra time

Eh. She’s much less annoying now than in S2. But it’s pretty clear she’s gonna die before her and El can follow through on their little plan.

But man so many of the actual cool interesting things S5 brings up is sidelined or used as throwaway lines to make space for a 10 min coming out scene. And look, I’m not anti gay like a lot of this site but holy shite the coming out scene was bad and others who are gay are calling it bad. Will’s gay. We’ve known for 3 fricking seasons. And we’re still on this shite

Meanwhile, the military using Henry’s blood to create El and the other kids, using 8’s blood to try and recreate them, wanting El’s blood to continue the cycle is INFINITELY more interesting and it’s brought up when the season is almost over

El saying that Brenner was using her to find Henry instead of just trying to find the other dimension was also something incredibly interesting that El just throws in there while they’re making their big plan in Ep7. For frick’s sake man, how can the same people who wrote such good seasons with 1 and 4 be writing this badly? Even the Jonathan and Nancy breakup scene, despite the actors trying their best, was written terribly and most people, including myself and the wife, didn’t even realize it was a breakup scene until we saw a snippet from an interview the Duffers did where they said it was a breakup scene

ETA: Also, Jamie Campbell Bower and Sadie Sink are acting fricking circles around the rest of the cast. They’re both stunning. Hope Jamie gets as much work as Sadie is getting from Hollywood. He’s been awesome

Just finished ep 5. Another home run.

The beginning gave Ernest Scared Stupid vibes. Henry kills it in every scene he's in. They did an excellent job casting for him.
008 is night and day better than Season 2 008.
I'm not dipshit Derek anymore. I'm delightful Derek. What a great line. Sadie Sink and Nell Fisher are a great duo.

You could tell the 2 episodes Frank Darabont directed. So glad he came out of retirement for this. I'm loving will this season after 5 episodes so its gonna suck when they cheapen his character coming out of the closet. I thought we were done with woke shite on TV.

Is the goal to go 80s B level movie bad? This show has because a complete joke.

The lady picked up the oxygen tank and just happen to end up in the laundry room. Laughably bad.

Too many characters.....
.and everyone......everyone is a hero.

They've been great.

I don't trust Kali/8. She's got a death wish and wants to take everyone down with her.

I cackled so hard when Will decided he needed EVERY person to be in the same room as he came out. Like I don’t think Eight and Murray gives a shite.
