Finished all of vol 2. Agreed EP6 was far and away the best of the three and EP7 was just god awful.

S4 was so good it pumped me up for this season so much but now it’s back to a show where I would for sure quit watching if there was another season.

quote:

I’m not anti gay like a lot of this site but holy shite the coming out scene was bad and others who are gay are calling it bad. Will’s gay. We’ve known for 3 fricking seasons. And we’re still on this shite

I disagree. Will has been different. But he was different because he went through what the rest of his friends couldn’t even relate to. Being kidnapped and the upside down jacked him up. It’s no surprise he was a different kid and wasn’t interested in girls. But he has not been gay. Just because a kid is different doesn’t mean your gay. They literally had a perfect reason for him being different. But they change it 95% of the way in snd now make his sexuality a HUGE part of the story. I don’t care that he’s gay, but deciding to make it a show altering, world saving factor at this point is just all time bad writing. It’s hard to even explain how bad the coming out scene was

quote:

For frick’s sake man, how can the same people who wrote such good seasons with 1 and 4 be writing this badly?

It has to be ChatGPT writing this. The dialogue has gotten so bad.

quote:

Even the Jonathan and Nancy breakup scene, despite the actors trying their best, was written terribly and most people, including myself and the wife, didn’t even realize it was a breakup scene until we saw a snippet from an interview the Duffers did where they said it was a breakup scene

Yea for a second I thought Jonathan was going to have to sacrifice himself to let Nancy get away but then I was like o I guess they’re just calling it off. Plus, it’s pretty clear this season Nancy ain’t being saved by no man, she won’t even let Steve use a gun. She freaking turned into Rambo in EP7.

quote:

ETA: Also, Jamie Campbell Bower and Sadie Sink are acting fricking circles around the rest of the cast. They’re both stunning. Hope Jamie gets as much work as Sadie is getting from Hollywood. He’s been awesome

Max, Henry, Holly, and Steve have been very solid.

At this point I’m honestly ok if Vecna wins

This thread is really weird. The fan boys are just giddy. The show has fallen off bigly

Having two gay characters and a inferential couple in a small Midwest town is laughable and I like the show but Netflix forcing this is insane

If you like the show, you are having to fight extra hard right now to act like this is good tv.

Some people thought this was one of the best shows ever and already were going to die on that hill regardless of what happened this season.

The show certainly had its really really good moments, but I’m ready for it to be over.

Feel like a lot of shows that are 3 plus seasons struggle with the landing.

I’d argue as well that once a show takes a long break it very rarely returns to form.

1. It gives fans too much time to come up with theories and when they don’t happen it pisses them off

2. Just seems creators and actors get bored

As someone who has been a ST fan for a long time, the last episode was just terrible. We've all known Will is gay for the past 3 seasons, hell they even hinted at it in season 1. We didn't need a fricking coming out party for 10 mins as if this is supposed to turn Will into Superman. Terrible writing...they could have focused on plenty of other things.

Either the Duffers are done and just wanted to move on to the next thing like D&D with GOT or they didn’t want to fight Netflix woke agenda

yup the show has been very inconsistent and I’m just ready for it to end

Anyone who has this show regarded as one of the best shows ever created, I’m judging hard

Yeah big loss for Netflix. They will get the views right now because everyone is already vested in how it all ends. But the rewatchability of this has fallen off a cliff and that is where Netflix will feel it.

We will have a spinoff show where Will moves to SF to "find himself"

The only characters at this point I’d want to see some spin off of is Steve and Dustin.

Yeah, that and people that have never watched it before that used to have friends recommend it. Much like Game of Thrones, up until the last season it was a show I recommended to everyone. Now I tell people not to bother.

Luckily majority of the world has already seen it so not many people you can recommend who hasn’t already watched it.

There hasn’t been a bad episode in season 5 so far and I’m going on episode 6. Game of thrones was trash the whole last season and the writers didn’t have an idea how to end it and it was terrible. Stranger things story is still fantastic outside of the homo 1% stuff

In the 6 hours so far of season 5. There has been 3 minutes of woke talk. They should have taken that crap out.

He can have a spinoff with Omar little. 2 queers trying to find their way with evil coming into their lives.

Oh yeah. Huge loss for Netflix. Most streaming show EVER ALL TIME. I honestly don’t know how Netflix will recover from this. When the numbers coming out next and it broke its own record again. We shall check back with you. It’s kind of like making fun of mondo duplantis breaking his own record each time for a decade.

It’s going to get big numbers now. But for the investment Netflix put into it the question is do people stream it in 6 months, or 2 years from now. And I think that’s going to be a big no.

Right now is kind of like a movie having a huge opening weekend. But for the studio to make money they need weeks 2+ to also be strong for the movie.

Sorry we are not poor like you.
Oh no people will watch the most streamed show of all time again.

Looks like you can go back to tik tok and watch some unemployed girl with a cell phone eat raisin canes in her car for free.

This show will still be popular while you're in a pine box.

That’s been my biggest issue with the season thus far. It’s wildly inconsistent. 5 was an absolute snoozer. 6 was really good. 7, I don’t hate where it ended, but getting there outside of the Max stuff was really meh.

And while I appreciate including her for continuity sake, I absolutely hate 11’s sister. I just want someone to punch her in the face with her bullshite.
