I’m late the party. Just finished season 3 and a few episodes into S4.
What happened to the Mind Flayers army he was building in S3? Did I miss something? Seems like they were building up to something then the show just forgot about them.

The army the Mind Flayer was building in season 3 was to use those bodies to construct a corporeal form of himself in our world to attack and kill El.
