And someone that old and grizzled, with that rank and status, in the mid 80's? Are we supposed to believe that she earned her mettle while shooting it out with Charlie back in 'nam?

lol what the hell does social media have to do with pointing out the stupidity of your comment.

We get it, you liked the show. That doesn’t mean that they limped to a finish. The writing was incredibly weak this season. They had 3 years to make this and put out a subpar product.

It had its up and downs. But in an homage to the 80s, it’s not surprising that everyone (sans Kali) lived.

I think expecting it to be a blood bath is probably more a symptom of having writers ruthlessly killing off characters to draw out an emotional impact. I felt like the Duffers did a pretty good job of making the final episode emotional without having to kill off a bunch of kids and young adults.

Why do these creators insist on putting vague endings left up to interpretation ? Sometimes they should just spell it out.

Was it though? Mike realized at graduation when he hears the feedback from the speakers that El had to be far away from the speakers the military was using in order to communicate with him like she did. He can’t confirm it. But I didn’t think it was that vague.

I am a little hungover this morning. Are you saying he realized that she escaped because he heard feedback in the speakers at graduation? Or, I am missing something here?

I am of the opinion it was just a hope and that she did not. But, I am not resolute in any opinion.

The writers were out of ideas. It was clear.

So-so finale. Watched it 1x and that'll be it.

As usual, fan theories were far and away better storylines

I mean Mike said it was just his theory and if we want to poke holes how did El get away during that if they were on and how did Kahli even have the range to use her power or even know when to use them?

When he hears the feedback on the speakers at graduation he remembers that the military had their interference speakers at full blast when El pulled him into the void to talk to him. If she had been in that proximity, she would’ve been disabled by the speakers and unable to pull him into the void to talk to him. It makes sense that would be a detail he might not realize until later because of everything that was going on.

I agree. It was a good ending. I did expect Eleven to be a little more powerful, in the sense that it seemed like she would go Super Saiyan at the end. The build up over the years had me thinking they would have her powers really amped up for the end, and then, what happened to Murray? My man needed a scene for the epilogue.

Sure.

I just don’t think it was that ambiguous.

But she was on the other side of the portal. I just don't see her faking it and running off like that. And, never communicating with Mike again. When he told that story, for a moment, I thought as he walked up the stairs a radio or something would go off with her communicating with him. But, this morning it seemed more like a coping mechanism for him.

Well she had the range in Ep 6 or whatever as Hop, El, and her were driving away. It didn't break until Kay swept her hand through her.

Finale currently at a 7.9 rating which is tied for 4th worst episode of the series.

The gays are really hating on this one because they didn’t make Mike gay. The temper tantrums on Twitter are hilarious.

Haven't seen anything like that, just people mocking the finale for how easy it was to kill the mindflayer and vecna in the end and the finale peaking halfway through the episode.

I mean I could if she’s trying to protect everyone.

As far as being in the other side of the portal, the speakers worked in the upside down as well as in the right side up.

Are we to take anything from the number of waterfalls El sees at the end. Mike always said he was going to take her to a place with 3 Waterfalls. But there are only two when it shows El. If it were just in Mikes head wouldn’t there be 3 waterfalls or am I overthinking this.

Was thinking the same thing. Like “damn, Mike is just like his dad never listening to the woman he loves”

I just don’t see how Kali would use her powers since she was dead. Even if she was badly wounded, I still don’t see it. All this happened way prior to when El defeated Vecna.

Did it? 8 is shot, they go to the roof, El makes the jump and then the final battle is all of 5 minutes

And who's saying 8 didn't fake being shot so that her and El could do their suicide pact as intended I mean, there are so many other plot holes, this is possible.

- Final fight with Vecna seemed way too easy. Needed a main character death during it.
- Nancy not ending up with either Steve or Jonathan was a miss
- Additional Vecna backstory would of been cool to see
- The final hour where they close the stories of the main characters was great
- Seeing 8 die was sweet, hated that character

Overall did a great job on the finale. Audience got what they wanted and didn’t try to do anything too crazy.

This may be a dumb question because I was confused a lot of times about wth was happening this season but when they blew up the helicopter or when the army guys were shooting (like when they shot 8) why didn't it create a massive explosion like when they shot the gun in one of the earlier episodes or when they blew they whole thing up with a little explosion at the end?
