Stranger Things Kid to star in hilarious prank show tricking the unemployed

I’m not going after the kid since I don’t think he understands the cruelty of this, but what about the adults? The only reason they got a kid to host it is because any adult would get the shite kicked out of them for this. If Scott Baio or Whitney Cummings walk out, then they’re getting physically assaulted for this.
You know, I have a great idea for a show: let’s bring in people with terminal illnesses telling them we have a cure, put them through hell, and then just bring out the cameras at the end to laugh at them for being sick. This may be the most cruel idea for a show I’ve ever heard.

TV prank shows are kind of like measles epidemics: They’re sudden, happen seemingly at random, and it’s hard to believe that they’re still popping up in the world in twenty-nine-fricking-teen. And yet, we feel compelled by public duty to note that people everywhere should be on the lookout for Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo, who has just begun production on an eight-episode Netflix prank series targeting our most laugh-ready of societal victims: People just trying to find a damn job.
Per Deadline, the “terrifying and hilarious” Prank Encounters eschews the Punk’d ethos—where you were really only in trouble if you were friends-of-a-friend with Ashton Kutcher, or an open, car-loving wound like Zach Braff—in favor of people who think they’re starting the first day of a part-time job. These lucky “contestants”—already presumably freaked out by the tenuous specter of employment in the modern economy—are then subjected to “business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares.”

You mean the best economy in decades, with the lowest unemployment rates in decades, with wages rising at almost unprecedented rates, with minority unemployment at record low levels? That economy?
fricker is talking like it's 2008.
Also, I'm not shocked that this is on Netflix. Any service that has a reality show about a drag queen teaching children under the age of 10 to be like him (her?), and presents Bill Nye as an actual scientist and then has him spew nothing but contentious (at best) propaganda at the screen as if it was fact will absolutely stoop to this level.

That's a fricked up concept for a show. Completely out of touch.

Shut the frick up.

I give it 3 episodes before somebody knocks those teeth out.

Hope one of these “ contestants” makes fun of the disease that kid has and makes him cry.

I love prank shows. Mindless A.D.D. popcorn entertainment.
Two of my favorites, Scare Tactics and The Carbonarro Effect, both usually involved hiring an unsuspecting day hand to be the target of the prank.
I don't give a shite if the target falsely thought they were getting hired for a few hours of warehouse work. The word Prank itself suggests deception.

Sweet baby Dustin, this is not a good look.
And yet...get that paper, playboy. I mean, if Netflix is just giving it away.

I'm just gonna predict that none of the 4 main Stranger Things kids go on to do anything of note in show business.
They are all rather weird looking, which works fine for their particular show, but not in Hollywood in general.
On top of that, in general most child actors do no go on to have meaningful careers.

I knew it was gonna be the gremlin looking kid before I read it.

That’s rough. Like what if they quit their job for this prank show job

The vast majority of "prank" shows, whether on TV or youtube, are mostly staged.
Yet another reason these "prank" shows are complete AIDS.

It's going to be sad to watch Netflix go out of business.

I'd have to agree with you on that. Now Millie Bobby Brown, whose career was practically dead and buried before landing Stranger Things, probably can understand just how out of line this is.
Galen's managers should have taken one look at the premise of this one and steered him the hell away from it.

The 'prank victims' are probably paid actors.

We don’t even know what all the details are besides what some dorky av club loser told us. For all we know the “victims” could be 17 year olds looking for work at McDonald’s and they all get a million dollars at the end
