I echo what many said as I finished it last night

Great season but prefer 1

Steve is the GOAT but I do like the new guy

The mom is a smoke show

Loved Paul Reiser and Samwise

The ONLY issue that bugged me was after the massacre hopper just put a call in and then said F it. Wouldn't you call everyone and anyone in that situation? News stations, 911, FBI. Anyone

I would think the freaking army would be there within hours. How does all that happen and nobody else knows or cares?

Yeah Jenner’s coming back. I don’t think a mad scientist that can rip portals into new dimensions works entirely for the US military. He has his own ambitions and much like other villains, he looked for ways to be immortal.

Not going to guess how but I imagine Jenner can’t be killed in a normal way.

From Complex:

quote:

"Yeah, we don’t end it on a totally happy note, do we?" the Duffer Brothers told Screen Rant with a laugh. "There were discussions about that, but then we went, 'Nah, we have to hint at what’s to come.' The hope we wanted people to get out of it is that this thing [is still out there]. They’ve shut the door on the Mind Flayer, but not only is it still there in the Upside Down, it’s very much aware of the kids, and particularly Eleven. It had not encountered her and her powers until that final episode. Now, it knows that she’s out there. We wanted to end on a little bit of an ominous note on that level."

quote:

The thing is, aside from the Shadow Monster, there is that dead (?) demodog that Steve and Dustin stuffed in the Byers' refrigerator. We never got to see where that ended up "one month later," but you have to imagine that it'll come into play at some point. Plus, the remnants of Hawkins Lab survived, and Eleven has a birth certificate now, so at some point, Eleven and the Shadow Monster must meet. Right?

quote:

"It's not necessarily going to be bigger in scale," Matt Duffer said. "What I am really excited about is giving these characters an interesting journey to go on." For round 3, the Duffers are planning to scale back Stranger Things 2's more expansive vibes to hone in on something "almost weirdly more intimate" and "a lot of fun."

quote:

Hawkins visitors should also expect more nods to '80s classics and the continuation of their fittingly cinematic approach to the episodic television format. The creative team, Matt said, is still working to "figure out how to tell an eight or nine-hour story" as if it were an extended film and not a collection of one-hour episodes. "Maybe we will get it just right when Stranger Things is done," Ross said. "The final season."

Great season. I was really hoping Bob was actually a government agent sent to watch Will. Am I wrong in thinking that they glossed over the water aspect? I recall Bob saying the rood's stopped growing when it came to water.

I do want them to take a small break from the Upside Down. Maybe have a whole season dedicated to the other Hawkin Lab experiments and maybe ones that the Russians are also doing. Upside Down in Season 4, sure, but I’d like for a slight change of pace for Season 3.

I think the kid actors age make it hard to do side plots like that. Think you wanna wrap up what you've started while they are still this age

So long as they do year gaps, I don’t think this is that much of an issue. Like next year could have a summer theme, the next a Christmas theme, etc. It doesn’t have this problem like Game of Thrones does.

Even Nancy and Steve, they can go to a college that is a 30 minute drive away and still make them work in the plot for the foreseeable future, which also allows you to get into Revenge of the Nerds and Animal House.

The kids start off in 7th grade, so I think a fitting ending would be 12th grade. That’s 6 seasons. I think you just need some breaks from the Upside Down for that to truly work.

All hail King Steve.

As I understand it, he was originally planned just to be their nod to the jock douchebag character so popular in the 80's and 90's. Once they got to know the actor they liked him so much they wound up developing his character more and more.

Carmen Cuba and the other casting agents did a remarkable job with the series. 2 seasons in and the Duffy brothers have said they are still surprised at how talented the cast is from top to bottom.

Team Steve!

They did? Well that’s fine and dandy then. Thank God they’re not overplaying it like House of Cards.

Just finished it. What an an amazing show. I’m so glad the Duffer brothers created this world. I really feel like they have so much storyline left to finish. Episode 7 feels like season 2 from the wire

Hopefully they pretend like episode 7 didn’t even happen. Glad it got roasted so bad by fans and critics alike

I think they've talking about a 5th season as well. 4 has been agreed to but they aren't married to it

Finished season 2 last night. Loved it. Such a great variety of characters that while each is similar to some 80’s cliche all seem to work.

The kid that plays Will deserves an award. His acting was amazing this season.

Love Steve and Dustin. That kid that plays Dustin has great comedic timing and delivery for a kid.

Nancy is a bad chick. Loved when she stabbed will with the fire poker.

Didn’t care for ep7 but I agree it will carry forward for next season. Maybe El and 008 will meet up again, maybe even have to find others like them for a future war with the shadow monster. That would be a great way to end it with an all out war since we know the shadow monster is still around.

Yeah, the numbers 8 and 11 implies 9 other potential power kids, but I don't see how you go that direction without squeezing out the cast that the show is built around. El has a big enough connection to Papa Brenner that I think she and 8 will chase him down, and 8 will probably play a role in taking on the Mind Flayer, but it can't become Xmen.
