just finished season 2 last night.

I loved it all. no complaints.

best line to me was "How was the pull out?"

Bob's death was kind of shitty.

and as cheesy as it was, I'm glad Dustin's caring for Dart paid off in the end.

Natalia dyer (nancy) is hot.

She is, but not as hot as her mother. Mrs. Wheeler is a smokeshow.

He has come a long way from his days doing Ferris Bueller rip-off Domino's commercials.

All hail King Steve.

As I understand it, he was originally planned just to be their nod to the jock douchebag character so popular in the 80's and 90's. Once they got to know the actor they liked him so much they wound up developing his character more and more.

Carmen Cuba and the other casting agents did a remarkable job with the series. 2 seasons in and the Duffy brothers have said they are still surprised at how talented the cast is from top to bottom.

Like most here, I thought season 2 was great, but not quite up there with season 1. I think the main reason for that was like TigerinATL said, there wasn't the element of mystery in season 2. Sure, there was a bit of figuring out what the Mind Flayer was, but you could make some pretty valid assumptions by episode 2 that ended up being really close to what was going on. In season 1, that mysterious element about the Upside Down and the Demogorgon carried just about to the end.

My only real criticism of the show (said the same after Season 1) is that they don't really address that nobody pays attention to this big secret government lab in a small town. Realistically that would be the most influential part of the town, with dozens of its residents working there, and of course their children going to school. Everyone would know about it. That honest trailer even made a joke about it.

That said, everything else was great. As others have said, loved the Dustin-Steve storyline. I thought the acting was fantastic, especially Will. He nailed the slow transition of being taken over.

My only criticism of Episode 7 is that it could have been dispersed throughout, rather than its own standalone episode.

Going forward I would like to see the mystery element added back in. I think they have a lot of options. It makes the most sense that they would explore the lab world a little more - Brenner's background, what are the powers of 1-7, 9 and 10. Obviously they alluded to the Mind Flayer and Upside Down still being there, so that will be a part of it too.

And Billy definitely needs to bang Mike's mom.

Loved season 2. So what was Billy's purpose other than being a douche and a foil for Steve?

I've read a lot about episode 7 being weak and out of place. I didn't like it at first bc El was heading a direction way out of character. But in the end I think it shows a lot about who she is and how the boys make her human and unlike her sister.

It was also a good way to show she has the same conflicts and urges as normal teenagers.

Also it was obviously setting up season 3 bc they opened the season with the new group so they are definitely going to be a huge part of next season IMO

Anybody think season 3 might have a lot to do with Hooper and Dustin? Both were sprayed by the thing in the tunnel with little repercussion. They are def top 2 characters and would help to not have the show focus on the other kid again in the upside down

I think 8 is the only safe person from Episode 7. The hate for it was strong and it wasn't just here. It's rated a 6.2 on IMDB. The next lowest rated episode is 8.5 for the first episode of Season 2. I know NetFlix has a reputation for letting the creative people do their thing but they also are data driven so I think the Duffer Brothers will probably get some feedback on Episode 7.

Other kids with psychic powers and hunting down Dr. Brenner will probably be a story line, but they'll need to lose the cartoonish crime crew.

I really enjoyed the arc of his character starting at the end of S01 when he turned hero. The further development in S02 had almost a Fonzi vibe to it as he was helping and bonding with the kids as well, even giving hair tips and dating advice. Fonzi or Jake (from 16 Candles).

I feel like Brenner is really dead, and L is just struggling mentally in regards to him since that vision 8 gave her. Feel like he's still alive only in her head as he is the basis for her troubles.

That said i guess he could have survived and escaped. His disappearance being open ended is interesting.

Didn't the fat guy they were going to kill say that Brenner was alive?

Yea he said he could take them there. Could have been bluffing but he'd probably know better.

He did. He could have been lying to save his own life, but it seems like a good plot reason to have 8 and 11 do some more stuff together.

I rewatched season 1 because I couldn't remember what happened to him at the end. Dude, the demigorgon jumps right on his arse. It killed everyone else that night. Not sure how he would have survived.

Spoiler for the ST game:

So in the game Max has a psychic ability for her attack, I kept waiting for this to manifest in the show but no dice. Did I miss something, or was this simply a curveball they threw to throw off people that played the game prior to watching the second season?

Episode 7 is not that bad. It only seems bad because of the epic episode 6 and the anticipation of what's happening at the lab

Best scene was Eleven showing up and going beast on the demi-dogs while everyone else is inside not knowing what the hell is happening
