The 9 movies timeline has me baffled. Old fart. Because the middle 3 came first, then the pre-3, and lastly the last 3 of which I’ve seen 2, plus the 2 random stand alones, I’m going to need to watch them all in order. Otherwise it feels like a total patchwork quilt of events, places and characters that my head has trouble wrapping itself around.

What's the difference between rebellion and resistance? And how can Rogue 1 be after Return Of The Jedi?

Wow. A Cassian Andor series. So cool. I know there was huge fan support after Rogue One came out for more Cassian Andor media. He's arguably one of the most popular Star Wars characters out there. Toys of him fly off the shelves and he was a popular Halloween costume. Truly one of the greats, alongside Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He has a place in the pantheon of great Star Wars characters.

I have no idea. As far as I can tell they are the same thing.

There's basically been no explanation for how the Empire came back or why they weren't actually defeated after ROTJ.

I’m currently in the middle of my first chronological rewatch (through ESB so far). I never realized the little things that don’t really match up between the prequels and OT.

There's no reason to watch any other movies. They're horrific.

For awesome prequel stories watch the Animated Series: The Clone Wars and Rebels.

For after Return stuff watch The Mandelorian

Well that’s just not true. I, II, III, and VII are still very entertaining.

You think Attack of the Clones is very entertaining? Are you a crackhead?

A few things.

Rebellion is formed, wins, then becomes government; dissenters who still want to fight on against the Imperial Remnant which becomes the First Order, found the Resistance. First Order kabooms the New Republic with Starkiller Base in the first of the new trilogy, leaving only the Resistance to fight on.

And no, Rogue One is just before A New Hope on the timeline, not Return of the Jedi; the design flaw they locate and transmit to Leia's diplomatic ship is from the first Death Star, as the second was not subject to the same flaw.

Here come the down votes from the fanboys.

Star Wars fan boys do not defend the prequels or sequels.

The fact that the sequels are so bad it's made fanboys start to defend the prequels is in and of itself testament to how horrible those were.
