f the leaks are true, that’s a lot of lazy storytelling.

There is an entire subreddit on Reddit. r/starwarsleaks

You can find them there with some searching. I just re-read them (the ones I read were in 3 parts broken up by the author).

Let's say the first 19 seconds of the trailer seems to track with some of the points (among other bits). And after reading the leaks, I'm not really pumped for this film.

Then again, considering the co-writer next to JJ Abrams is the guy who helped write Batman v. Superman and Justice League, I wasn't too enthusiastic before either.

That headline doesn't make any sense.

I just hate how this trilogy has made the original trilogy pointless.

Luke/Anakin brought balance to the force? Nope.

Republic flourishes after ending the reign of the sith? Nope, 30 years later they will be down to 20 or so people in a ship.

Emperor dead? Nope. He's back.

What was actually accomplished in the OT? They won a big battle, that's about it.

Every single major character and consequence of the original trilogy (and the prequels that supported it) were flushed down the toilet.

It's seriously like every single major decision maker involved in these Disney movies actively hated everything about the Star Wars universe and were purposefully trying to defile it.

TFA was good.

Yes it was, and most people liked it when it came out, but you know everyone here suddenly hates it retroactively

Rian Johnson did pretty much ruin the Force Awakens ending with his totally hilarious lightsaber toss gag

The closest thing to a consensus opinion was "Basically a copy of A New Hope, but it sets up some potentially interesting stuff"

Not white hot hatred, but not exactly glowing praise either.

As many others have said, when the only strength of a movie is a few potential seeds it planted for the next movie, its ultimate fate lies in the next movie's hands.

Rian covered those seeds in shite and then lit the manure on fire.

Thrawn was just a stable boy in the Unknown Regions until Palpatine gave him a shot.

The swell of music at 130 in trailer got me. I love John Williams...

Hopefully they have a good ending for Kylo..he is the only character I’m curious about currently!

I mean, that's how I felt. I thought The Force Awakens set up an intriguing story with a good cast, and the next movie just completely screwed it up.

I'm willing to bet that Abrams did his best to salvage this trilogy with this new movie, but the damage has been done. The treatment of Luke Skywalker has been my biggest disappointment.

Thank God John Williams is still alive.

Riding space horses, the horror!

Is Rose Tico going to come in and set the space horses free? Won’t somebody think of the space horses?

I understand some want to see this movie because it's basically the funeral procession for Star Wars after Rian Johnson killed it.

That's the feel I get from this.

It's going to a funeral because you have to go to funerals and you hope JJ Abrams delivers a good eulogy that helps you remember the good times.

But is anyone actually excited about this movie? I can't even bring myself to commit to watching it at home one day much less seeing it in a theater.
