Yeah that's what I meant. Finn fought with it a couple times. I will be sorely disappointed if he ends up not being a force user and probably won't view any of these movies from Disney as canon.

Finn is definitely force sensitive based on Kylo's acknowledgement of his presence on the battle field during th beginning of TFA. From that point on I thought it was obvious he was at least force sensitive, but I think his character looks to be headed down the same path as Han's. Luke(Rey) and Han(Finn) became friends, and then have to go their separate ways in order to be reunited again later. I need more backstory on Poe's father before I decide whether he's force sensitive or not. Right now I believe he's just a bad arse pilot fricking some First Order shite up for the Resistance. Kylo's fate was sealed when he killed his father, but he will always struggle to accept the destiny he wants to create because he knows the pull of the light side beckons him. However way he was swayed to the dark side still haunts him, and finishing his training won't dispel that which slumbers inside. I believe he'll challenge his master on his own in a coupe attempt, but will fail and be left for dead. I don't know the timeline so I could be way off here, but did Luke rescue Rey before Kylo Ren killed the young Jedi(in training)? If that's the case, then wouldn't that explain why she was abandoned on Jackko* so she could grow up and eventually help Luke defeat Kylo and the First Order?

Don't know how you came to this conclusion. The only thing that was obvious at that point was that he had an issue with what was going on. Ren noticed him because he wasn't doing what was ordered.
There were lots of issues I had with this movie as part of the Star Wars universe. Overall it was a very good movie though, that can't be denied. There was just plenty that was an insult to die hard Star Wars fans.

Same. Honestly, even if he is force sensitive it won't be enough. I'm to believe that Ren was able to be trained by Luke, lead an attack and defeat his entire groups of trainees, and hold his own enough to cause Luke to go into hiding, can't hold up against a storm trooper garbage man and a scavenger who have never held a light saber before? That is absurdity.

I was under the impression only people strong in the force could wield a light saber without cutting their own limbs off because it has no weight on the business end, so normal people couldn't "track" where the blade was during use
So basically anyone that isn't a Jedi has shite for brains?

Not at all.

I would say it's more about using the force to help guide their swings.

It's just a sword. You don't need the force to guide your swings. The force could help anticipate what the opponent is doing, however. And Finn got his arse beat twice, so it's not like he was very good at it.
Ren was toying with Finn and was still having his way with him.

Wait, why? It's clear he's just a red herring. It was clearly always Rey's story. Why is it that important that he's Force Sensitive? Are you pissed that Lando wasn't a Force user as well? Talk about an overreaction.

Why was there dialogue from Luke in the trailer that never made it into this movie?
Will it be in the next one, or is it specifically to sell the movie?
I think it's clear in the trailer talking about bloodlines that Rey's a Skywalker.

There are plenty instances in cannon of characters who aren't force sensitive using lightsabers:
Han in TESB
Grevious in ROTS
Plus there are several instances in The Clone Wars.
The Force is needed to make lightsabers not to swing them.

The "the force is strong in my family ...." quote used in the trailer comes from Return of the Jedi.

Is it the same plot as the original? YES
It's really not just A New Hope. The second and third acts have themes closely tied to Empire and Return of the Jedi.
The more I digest the movie the more I like it. I think Abrams did a great job of weaving familiar themes from the OT with new characters and story lines.

I agree. I think he weaved in the major plot of the prequels into the movie, and he used all of the settings of the original trilogy. He nodded to every movie, which I liked, he was showing the franchise is back in good hands. Now, it's up to Rian Johnson to do something cool with it.

The second viewing was even better for me cuz 1) I was able to shed the fear of another shitty SW movie...and not TRY to find shite wrong with it. I could just sit back and let it happen - and 2) I got to take my girls (9 and 11) with me
Reboot, easter eggs, call-backs, homage...give it all a name, it doesn't matter: TFA looked, felt, sounded and even tasted like SW. It was 1977 and I was 5 again for 2 hours and change. JJ hit a homerun, period.
And the "bowcaster borrow" scenes - that was JJ playing with action figures on-screen, and that was just OG-Star Wars-nerd-kid-cool. I can't tell you how many times the bowcaster got passed around to other figures when I was a kid. It was the most kick-arse looking weapon any of the action figures had (and the lightsabers were built-into the arms of Luke, Obi Wan and Vader.)
And JJ made sure the bowcaster blasts carried a much bigger punch than it did in the other movies...like I said, so nerdy it's fricking cool.
My girls were hooked. I loved hearing them talking about their favorite parts, how awesome this was and that was...and when they started fighting over the ace bandages when we got home - to wrap up their arms like Rey, of course- That was all the review I needed.

The bowcaster scenes were hilarious.
They did miss a lot of opportunities to deliver great Star Wars lines. They set up Han to say "I know" over and over and never did it. Also, when Rey was talking to Finn's passed out body, her line should have been "I will see you again, I promise", not "I truly believe that".
Also, why in the world didn't Chewie go to Leia at the end? They missed a big opportunity there. Instead they went with Rey, who barely knew him. Could have been. Great moment between Chewie and Leia.

I wish we could have seen Han and Luke together in the Sequel Trilogy, too.

I did too. I also wish Luke would have used the force on the light saber at the end. Or have had him just meditating with some rocks hovering, like on Dagobah. Would have just been a nice touch.
