It's all fricking reboots
Hollywood has been stealing/reusing ideas since its inception. Why is this just now such a big issue?
quote:
Unasked for sequels.
Yeah because clearly no one asked for a Star Wars sequel which is exactly why it made over $500 million in a 72 hour period.

Mutilated plots from comics.
So keep the story the same, and you complain. Change the story and you call it mutilated? Maybe you need to watch documentaries or take up knitting.

They have absolutely shite all over decent writing because drooling simpletons will file into theaters to watch whatever dreck they put lit because a well known name is attached to it.

I'm not talking about Star Wars you fricking dolt.

No. You tell a damn story. You tell it well. You don't tell the same fricking story with Pallete swaps and terrible casting and call it brilliant.
And when you have decent source material you don't gut it of all nuance to sell fricking action figures and boost panel reviews.
If you do, you're a fricking hack

2) Was Captain Phasma just a red herring? The expectation was that she would be this trilogy's Boba Fett. Seems like a fairly pointless character.
One thing I was disappointed in was the lack of screen time for Captain Phasma... but she is already signed on for Episode VIII, so she must have escaped the trash compactor and made it off the planet in time.

She did not know how to use a blaster (Obi would approve),
Don't call him that. Don't ever fricking call him that. His first name is Obi Wan.

. Dafuq does Rey belong to. Kylo is a Solo/Skywalker, where did Rey come from? This will be interesting to find out and please do not be Luke's daughter.

Well, the entire saga is about the Skywalkers. She's the main character moving forward so....

Well technically it is Obi-Wan, you made Wan his middle name
Annie approves the use of Obi for cute internet messages.

Saw it last night. First of all, IMAX is king.
I was pretty pleased with the movie overall and was pretty intrigued from the get go.
-Some of the visuals were just incredible, especially the Destroyer in the desert.
-I thought Han and Chewie were spectacular as always.
-I didn't think Fin is a good actor at all
-As soon as Kylo took off his mask, I immediately assumed he was a soft bitch the rest of the movie
-The quickly acquired force by Rey was kind of ridiculous but I'll just assume the force is very powerful
-I was legit laughing when they blew up the new death star as easy as they did.
-Han talking to his son on the bridge was cheesy as hell, but we all knew he was going to die, so doing it quickly isntead of dragging out a big long fight was fine with me

8/10, at best ... agree with the article claiming the movie is simply a redo of the original, along with all the plot holes ... it's just another movie chain now ...

I'm so glad I'm not a miserable bastard who can't enjoy a good Star Wars movie.

So day 5 and the quiz bowl team is still hard at work defending their stance on the movie they dislike so much. Hilarious, and quite pathetic. Don't most educated, sane individuals who dislike a movie do everything they can to start forgetting it?
This is a sci-fi FANTASY movie meant to entertain multiple generations. Please let that sink it clowns. Everything is not going to be explained (thankfully) and there will be some cheese added in to please the younger generations and draw them in. For what this movie is trying to be, it was done very well.
What pisses me off about you tools isn't that you continue to troll, it is that you have gone out of your way to slam the writers, director, cast, crew, and fans for liking something that you self inflated arse hats don't. And to tell us we are not as enlightened and superior as you to understand why the movie is bad because we are "blinded by nostalgia," "not as smart as you," or "are drooling simpletons" says everything about you that anyone needs to know.

I could not agree more. Some of the shite brought up to pick this movie apart is flat out hilarious. The two main characters go through a life changing experience (in a fantasy movie no less) yet some people want to project a Disney agenda.
Anyway, I'm with you, I chose to enjoy this and won't let the superior beings bring me down.

Now?
It became that the second Phantom Menace was released.
Who cares anyway?
People act like this somehow diminishes the impact of the original which is complete and utter bullshite.
