So, cheesy shite is appealing to young people? That doesn't make any sense. It's just cheesy shite. It's what you do when you suck at writing.
I agree, there's no reason for the pandering, kids would like it either way.

Beats the shite out of the dialog in this.

nyway, I'm with you, I chose to enjoy this and won't let the superior beings bring me down.
I enjoyed it, too. I just don't think it was a great movie.

Gonna chime in here: if you go to a Star Wars movie expecting great dialogue, you're in a a letdown. That has NEVER been an emphasis. I mean, seriously, go back and listen to Vader sometime; he just needs a diabolical laugh to complete the cheesiness
"there's no escape for you now" Muahahaaha!!
"Now, I am the master" Muahahaaha!!
"The Force is strong with this one. I will take him myself"Muahahaaha!!
"The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force"Muahahaaha!!
Vader- "I am your father" Luke "NOOO!!!" Muahahaaha!!
and so on. And you know what, it doesn't detract from the experience, it helps set the mood. It's fricking Star Wars.

But it sounded so much cooler in James Earl Jones voice

To be fair, James Earl Jones could read a Chinese takeout menu and sound awesome. He and Morgan Freeman have some of the best voices ever.
I bought the James Earl Jones AudioBible just to hear him talk.

"I'm going to beat you with a crowbar until you go away"
this is pretty fun

I enjoyed it very much. happy to see it back on the screen and in a well done manner. i agree that this movie sets up ALOT to be explanained in the next one...
my complaints...
1. Rey vs Kylo could have been set up better. Her abilities did seem to grow very quickly. I think all of that could have been set up better if Luke contacted her in some way. something like Obi Wan with Luke Skywalker the OT.
2. Han Solo finding his MIllenium Falcon so quickly. we all want the plot to develop, but this seemed kinda fluky.
3. not clearly explaining how Poe was able to survive the Tie Fighter crash.

The next time he spoke to Finn. The next time we saw him was when he was in one of the X-Wings killing every motherfricker in sight.

I think Rey turning in back on activated something on board the Falcon that allowed Solo and Chewy to hone in on it with their freighter. Han said something to that effect when they first met Rey and Finn on board.

Poe survived the exact same way that Finn did.

Then people would say that's just another thing they copied from the ANH.

Gonna chime in here: if you go to a Star Wars movie expecting great dialogue, you're in a a letdown
"I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan. We meet again at last. The circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but a learner. Now, I am the master."
still gives me chills.
I think lines like "wretched hive of scum and villainy" and "damned fool idealistic crusade" are avoided in this new piece of shite partly because Americans are mostly morons now, and would think it "sounds faggy."
