Just got out. 6/10.
The fin character was horrible. Poe should have replaced him as one of the main protagonists along side Rey.

Dude, Christopher Lee and Samuel L. Jackson were some of the best parts of the prequels. Even with his stupid Purple drank lightsaber.

Kylo Ren's lightsaber looks like that because it is an Ancient Sith design. His Sith Lord - Snoke - is thousands of years old and that's why his saber is based off of an old design.

Is that the retconned reason they are going with? That he used a shitty crystal to start with so he made a shitty lightsaber?
You can't be fricking serious.
They had a stormtrooper with a pseudo-lightsaber mace thing. So obviously the tech is there.
And these people made a Planet.
Made into a giant weapon.
That uses a sun for power.
To destroy multiple planets in the galaxy.
And you're trying to tell me that they didn't have the resources to A. Fix the broken crystal.
Or B. Find a non-broken one?

The reason for the lightsaber is some studio exec said "you know what would be cool? Like a broadsword thing. But it's a lightsaber. You know, bzzzzzzrrrrr, zoop zoop, swish swish wuuhhhhhh."
And because they control the purse strings no one had the balls to tell them it was a stupid idea. It's like a damn 9 year old designed it.
I mean, think about it. With an actual broadsword, the crossbar isn't made up of two additional blades. That would be stupid.
