If he thought for a second, he could have paid a smuggler plenty of fricking credits to get them all to Coruscant. Seriously millions and millions of credits to get them there due to the Queen's importance. Or hell, make a collect pay phone call to the Jedi Order to pick their asses up. He gambles like an idiot because that's what he's into, and using a 10 year old boy's life at that.

if half in the bag comes out against TFA i await OML's response

Star Wars: TFA -Official Discussion Thread - Spoilers
All dissenting opinions must be silenced. Roll imperial march music.

Did anybody else not like how it was the quirky minoriteam multicultural crew taking on the mean white guys?
His captain was a woman. There was a woman (I think a light-skinned black girl) involved with the firing of the Starkiller main weapon.
I'd say the cast was just a little more diverse.

Jackass, my point was that SFP was turning the thread into his personal blog. It's not personal. I like SFP. He is just posting so much on this thread that I consider it an etiquette breach.

It's already out. Jay and Rich found it pretty good, while Mike was having a collective nerdgasm over the film like myself. It was hilarious how after years of bitching, all of it paid off for him.

Name one time he doesn't blindly dismiss another person's opinion
Name one time that his opinion isn't better than the others? Obi-wan was pretty much a negative nancy coward in the first movie. Why listen to him? He's a padawan anyways.
Padme - a 14 year old queen - says she doesn't want to gamble their ship on a boy. What alternative does she offer? None. Yeah. Shame on him for betting their fortune on a kid that has off the charts Force potential. Oh and whats that? His plan worked? Yeah, frick that guy.
So we have this kid who has the highest Force potential seen in millenia and we've already taken him from his planet, so what would we do now? Just leave him to wander around Coruscant? Take him back to Watto and live his life as a slave? Or do you fulfill a prophecy that they had no idea would turn on them? Keep in mind they had no idea that Palpatine was a Sith Lord and would ultimately seduce Anakin to the dark side.
But yeah frick that guy because he didn't know Palpatine was a Sith.
quote:
The multi million dollar credit sub from the Gungans. He uses Jedi mind tricks to convince them to give it to him, and attempts to do the same with Watto.
Cool. One was necessary and the other was as well. His duty was to protect Padme. If a slaver gets screwed over in the process, so what? Poor Watto, I imagine his life was over after Anakin left? Oh what's that you say? He was still a slavemaster 10 years later? Yeah okay buddy. And even then, he offered to pay for Anakin anyways. So you have no point here.
quote:

No one out there took credits. Besides, what makes you think a smuggler wouldn't have taken their credits and then turned them over to the Trade Federation? Their safest path was on their own ship out of there.
quote:

Yes because he had millions and millions of credits laying around.

Now you're just making shite up. No wonder Blueboy and SFP have fun trolling you. You make it too easy.
I'm done with you. A pile of cat poo has better arguments and logic than you. You are the Jar Jar Binks of this thread.

I loved the light saber being used sparingly in this one. Even the duels were more gritty and raw... much more realistic and believable.

Was ships skimming across shite the new JJ lens flare? Seems like every time a ship was flying, it was skimming across something. Trees, water, snow, sand, other ships, frick it lets skim across that shite.

I don't see you accusing people who liked it of turning the thread into a blog.

Any insight to who the old man that Ren killed in the village was? He knew who Ren really was.

It's pretty easy when he tells everyone else to shut the frick up by having a different thought. But on the top of my head, training Anakin who directly leads to the destruction of their order would be a good place to start.
quote:
No one out there took credits.
Smugglers absolutely would. They travel the Galaxy extensively. You offer a smuggler 5 million credits (which I think is reasonable), they'd be able to live like kings on Coruscant. Han Solo would have shat his pants with a similar offer.
quote:
Besides, what makes you think a smuggler wouldn't have taken their credits and then turned them over to the Trade Federation? Their safest path was on their own ship out of there.
Because they only have 20,000 on them. And hell, I'd say the risks for Han were much higher than they were for any smuggler during the time of the Phantom Menace. The Trade Federation isn't near them in the prequels, while the Empire is all encompassing in the original trilogy.
quote:
Yes because he had millions and millions of credits laying around.
The Queen, the Jedi Order, and the Republic sure as hell do. A smuggler would shite his pants if this offer was presented before them. Trade Federation would push them aside after getting the Queen, but the Queen would likely utilize them further for their services.
quote:
Stop trolling.
Why is that trolling? Why couldn't they have made a call from a random center on Tatooine to the Jedi Order? I don't know how the Sith or the Trade Federation could track it. Surely there are multiple people making long distance calls on that planet.

As an aside, if I were living in that galaxy far, far away, I'd be in favor of some strict genetic testing.
I mean, seriously- you get the "Skywalker" gene, and 2 of the last 3 generations are completely emotionally unstable, coupled with being immensely Force-powerful, which has resulted in them playing major roles in the destruction of, you know, civilization as we know it...
And while an argument might be made that Anakin was caused by his bad circumstances and environment, that doesn't go over as well for Han and Leia's kid. They seem like they'd be good parents.

We're talking about a movie with the force, aliens, and whatever else. The lack of realism must be horrible for you.

No one important. He was a follower of the Jedi and all that they stood for before the Empire took over, but he's not Force Sensitive. Probably a former Rebellion soldier too.
