One thing that was bugging me was the fact that they didn't get deeper into the post-Endor order of the galaxy. I know TFA was to reestablish the franchise but I would have liked to know a little more about the new Republic the Alliance set up and how the First Order came together. I also wonder why the Republic set up this Resistance instead of going after and eliminating the First Order directly?

Why did everyone down vote the guy that said Boyegas love interest is Rey? That's deffinitly clear

My biggest question: why does Rey speak with a British accent? There are no other individuals with a British accent (Well C3PO but he's a droid) besides Kenobi (and the stormtrooper played by Daniel Craig)

I just found it annoying how he was catching feelings right from the get go. Like I don't care about that shite or want to have to watch that. shite was annoying.

He's been looking an old dudes in cloaks and storm trooper outfits his entire life, Rey is like the first chick he's ever seen and she's smokin, of course he's in love
I mean, they found out it was gross later, but Luke and Leia were making out 5 minutes after they met. There's a precedent there

If they are ever going to dive into the politics/social fallout from Empire collapse, it better be in a miniseries a la Game of Thrones. Sell those rights to Netflix/HBO and let them work their magic.
Movies don't have time to develop a universe. Let the " Hero's Journey" play out in the movies, perfect amount of time for that. Political intrigue is too much for 2 hours

Seriously, the movie was great. Certainly was a reboot of A New Hope, but that isn't a bad thing. It had a little bit of a different feel than the previous movies, but that should be expected with a new director/writer. JJ nailed this much like he did with Star Trek.
I thought all the new characters were great. I had done a pretty good job of staying away from any speculation or details outside of the trailer, so I wasn't expecting Rey to be the one to use the force, I though it would be Finn. Poe was an awesome character as well, which I loved because I always wish we had some more focus on characters like Wedge and Biggs in the original trilogy. I pretty much knew Han was gonna die, but I'm still sad. Poor Chewie
I got chills during the opening text and again at the end when Rey finally meets Luke. Can't wait to see where that leads in the next movie, along with the origins/identity of the supreme leader.
