I liked it but that lightsaber. I Thought the lightsaber looked stupid. That's not a realistic weapon:

Because a lightsaber is?

I've never watched Star Wars, so don't be too critical with this question. . . Is that a robot's head on a soccer ball, or is the soccer ball part of the robot?

uh what?

Guilty as charged. I've read many books in the extended universe and am already peeved that they are throwing that 40 years of plotline into the garbage. If there is no Mara Jade or no Anakin Solo, I will be quite upset.

The description of the movie from a couple of weeks ago already ruined this movie for me, and I am a massive Star Wars fan. This trailer did nothing to bring me back to excitement for this movie. What possible benefit could there be to having the hilt for the lightsaber be tiny lightsabers? That was so stupid. The lightsaber is "an elegant weapon" mainly because it is sleek and highly efficient. Then the robot riding a soccer ball gave me Jar Jar Binks flashbacks. I'll need a great trailer to get me excited for this movie once again.

You'll be one of the first people in line.

Anything is better than this:

People are saying that sith is Darth Revan which I guess was a total badass in the Old Republic?

That would make zero sense.

There won't be. And I'm already tired if the bitching that will come when it's "confirmed". Never would I have thought that an opportunity for ACTUAL ORIGINALITY would be whined about so much.

It wouldn't be smart of them to pick and choose parts of the canon to include in the new trilogy. Either make the films consistent with the canon characters and storylines, or don't at all.

There will be no Thrawn or any reference to him from what I understand, so a Mara Jade character isn't likely.

Looks incredible. Can't believe people are upset over a lightsaber and a black jedi in disguise.

Because that is exactly why I watch movies after enjoying the books bearing the same title or set in the same universe - to see something entirely different from what I enjoyed. I want to see what was written on the big screen. Those books were ORIGINAL to use your emphasis and have never been made into film. What an utterly stupid comment by you.

I got chills. That was so fricking awesome. As I predicted, George Lucas selling Star Wars might end up being the single greatest thing to happen to nerd cinema ever.

Exactly my thought. It looked incredible to me.

The books were never written by Lucas or anyone associated with the original trilogy. I fully support Disney's decision to not shell out money to fan fiction writers.

I also don't like how they blew their load by showing the only 2 non-white-male characters.

Doesn't that defeat the purpose as the guard would be meant to protect the hands FROM the light saber?
if he has a guard, which protects the hands from a glancing blow from the opponent, he most likely will have a different fighting style. it will probably resemble a medieval broadsword fighting style

Your tears are delicious. I hope there's a character named Ensign Thrawn and he gets his head blown off in the first 5 minutes. And I hope there's a Yuuzhan Vong running around on Tattooine that gets run over by Daisy Ridley's landspeeder, never to be seen from again.

I enjoyed the EU books as well but this would be great just to see the meltdown from the fans of the fan fiction books. At the end of the day, that's all the EU is. Non-canon fan fiction.
