Every character has an arc? What the frick are you talking about. Most characters are just that.
Chewbacca has no fricking arc
Maz has no arc
Lando calrissian had no arc
Akbar has no arc
Dude some people just are who they are.
You guys are just pissed that the protagonist isn't who you wanted it to be and that effectively Luke's character arc was done before TFA opening credits.

I'm realizing the people that hate this movie are a lot like Luke.

Yeah, akbar isn’t a character.
Regardless if he’s not a character he’s so iconic and badass because of a dumb meme that he should’ve been the one to light speed kamikaze.

Chewie is an ancillary character.
Lando despite not showing up until an 1:15 into the movie has an arc. He makes a choice and there’s an ensuing change
I also like how leia and chewie still treat him like shite even though he helped them. That felt real

Every major character has an arc - yes. Not just a yes, but an EMPHATIC yes.
There are ancillary characters whose main job is to advance the plot. Those are called, wait for it, plot characters functioning as plot devices. That’s your argument.
So you’re saying main characters don’t need character arcs because plot devices exist. Way to bring the lulz

It’s fine that you’re a normie when it comes to movies, that you shut your mind off and just enjoy whatever is vomited at you.
In fact, I’ve said from the very beginning if a person shuts their mind off and watches this movie like it’s a Michael Bay summer popcorn flick, TLJ is a legit 8/10 entertaining movie. I stand by that.
As a Star Wars movie where we expect a half way cohesive plot that falls within some semblance of the lore, it sucked donkey dick.
Defend the movie as a normie, cool. That has no bearing on the writing of the movie or its direction. It was a mess.
And FTR I love Rey’s character so I have NO idea what you’re getting at there.

People mad about Ackbar and Lando being absent in the film are just dumb. I didn’t care for them in the OT. Lando was always a snake to me. Ackbar is a one line wonder.
