Dude had a massive gaping, bleeding bowcaster wound. At full strength, Kylo-Ren would have crushed Rey.

Plus, even though she had no training with a lightsaber, she clearly had already shown an expert proficiency with melee weapons. It's not that big of a stretch to say her mastery of the staff would translate to light sabers.

Also, Rose had already been fawning over Finn before they met. She was star struck. Infatuation can easily happen when two people are in close quarters for 3 days, especially when going through something so emotional.

All I ask is for a cut where they and BB-8 are cut from the film. I’d be pretty ecstatic for this film if it didn’t waste 40 fricking minutes on bullshite that I didn’t care about.

It's ironic the the Solo directors were fired for making that movie a comedy yet the comedy in this was deemed acceptable?

Lol. What a bunch of babies. The movie wasn’t great, but it was pretty good. Completely changed the direction, and Johnson did a great job. To many people still holding on to the memories of a 40 year old set of movies. Get over it. It’s based around a fictional power.

Rey and Snoke backstories And Snoke being killed was a big “frick you” to the fans.

It will be interesting how opinions change over the next month or so. It’s understandable if you either love or hate a movie at first then change your mind later.

I was that way with rogue One. Loved it at first now I think it’s average at best.

Ugh, I can't get the Luke lightsaber toss out of my head.

So bad.

The end scene of TFA was so goddamn dramatic and this just takes a big dump all over it.

Should have let JJ direct this movie as well.

This is the biggest flaw in the movie in my opinion.

In the long run, nothing they did had any point to it due to the unnecessary deception.

I get that they were trying to teach the audience that rushing headlong into a situation and trying to be the hero isn't always the smart move. In all of the other movies, that was how things got done, but that doesn't work anymore. Sometimes, the most heroic thing is just surviving.

However, it seemed completely unnecessary. Just tell Poe the plan is to stall and get to that other planet to send the distress call. Then Finn doesn't have to go on that pointless adventure, and they don't have to be captured. You can shorten the movie tremendously.

You’ll get your wish in the next one. Now I’m worried about whiplash.

This one I feel I need to digest. I’m sure I like it more than TPM, AotC, and RO, but I’m not sure where I’d rank it aside from that. The B-Plot in this is just garbage, but the A-Plot was all around great. So long as we get Expanded Universe stuff about Snoke, I can make due with it so long as Episode IX has a great end arc for Kylo Ren. Almost all my immediate problems with it are with the B-Plot, kind of like RotJ.

Return of the Jedi is a fair comparison

RoTJ aged well. It’s was generally panned on release but now is generally well liked.

Will be interesting if this gets the same treatment

It’s so out there. That’s the whole reason I love it. It’s the least Star Wars movie ever and that’s my favorite thing I love about it.

frick you. People like you are what are killing Star Wars, James Bond, etc. just let the movies be how they should and feel like a Star Wars/James Bond movie. The majority of people go to see these movies because of the originals, and how they made you “feel”.

If you want to create something new and bold, make a new story, don’t just lazily piggyback off the characters of an established franchise.

What do the original set of movies have to do with this movie shitting all over Snoke and Rey's backstory?

Yeah, and you don’t need 40 fricking minutes to make this point.

To be honest, I’m wishing they just ripped off Empire with this. Just have the fleet decimated from the start and stick with a smaller crew trying to survive.

What the franchise is about is not up to JUST you. This might shock you, but people have different tastes.

It’s cool if you don’t like the movie but I have no idea why you would hate ME over it. I personally think your complaints are valid.

Geez.

Oh, and since I haven't seen it mentioned:

Luke Skywalker milks an alien cow.

That's not the point.

It was ridiculously cheesy. Much like the entire first hour of the film.

Usually when you look back on a movie, you remember awesome stuff...for now when I think back on it, I remember the Leia space ghost scene and forced awkward comedy.
