The guy made Attack of the Clones. That film is irredeemable

It’s like people have forgotten how bad that movie really is. There would be riots if we saw anything like that now.

I just wish this movie explained Snoke's background as a character. Him dying meant nothing to me...

TFA left us with so many questions about how they would proceed moving forward. I don't really care about the unanswered questions leading into the finale of the trilogy.

Still, it looks like both sides wiped out like 95% of the others forces. It’d be as if almost all of the Soviets and Nazi forces were wiped out in Stalingrad except for like 2,000 people, including the leaders. For the rest of the world, it’s turned into a “who cares”?

It does sorta seem that way. It seems like one of the undercurrents of this movie (literally the only point of the whole casino planet Finn arc) is that the money class really doesn't care who is in charge as long as they're fighting somebody, so they can make money selling to both sides.

But still, this is a regime guilty of the genocide of trillions. I just don’t think there would quite be a market for the number of mercenaries needed to serve a genocidal regime.

George Lucas will ALWAYS be the worst director of all time and nothing will ever change that for me

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought it sucked balls. The constant slapstick shite seconds apart from really serious really killed it for me. Reminded me of the prequels

Im bitching about the story/directing.

1000 stormtroppers on top of Finn with Metal chick standing next to him, then ship gets cut in half and all of a sudden eveyone dies except china/black and metal girl with 4 friends who are standing in a line like red coats 100 yards away marching toward them?

Then crashing through walls in a casino on top of giant dogs and being able to hold on with out any issue.

Then flying miles on some lamd speeders toward huge laser cannons....then dude drags her body to the base right past enemy in seconds?

What example do we have in the originals that was this over the top? These people didnt have force powers.

One of the few bright spots was the running space battle, I thought that was well done.

You did notice that they literally abduct children and train them to be slave soldiers in TFA. Everything's cheaper when stolen.

They simply show up at less developed planets in the outer rim and kidnap/kill everyone and steal any precious minerals or resources they need.

I'm still in the overall positive camp but I just can't get over how bad the Luke shoulder toss moment is.

That moment culminates what supposedly was an epic journey to find where the legendary Luke Skywalker has gone into hiding. Rey hands him a weapon he has not seen since his then newly-discovered dad cut his hand off and left him for dead. So the payoff is a cheap gag where he throws it away for laughs as if it has cooties? The tone throughout the first hour was so ham fisted. Take a hatchet to that 2:30 runtime and you've got a much more consistently fun film.

I could see Luke doing that since he was clearly trying to renounce the Jedi even in TFA.

Ewoks lived in the jungle, the empire had been there a while. They had devised traps before the rebels ever came. They used those traps to help. Sure I doubt a rock could kill a trooper with armour, but Ewoks didnt defy the laws of physics.

1. all the tie fighters were destroyed chasing Ray and Chewie in the Falcon

2. None of the "redcoats" were on the ground. They were all in the AT-AT's. They were all paying attention to Luke per Ren's orders. Literally no one was watching them or caring about them at all.

You can feel free to get your panties in a bind over how quickly they made it back to the base, but we don't know how long that entire exchange actually took. We don't know how long the First Order fired on Luke or how long the Mexican standoff between Ren and Luke went before it ended.

What's more realistic? Rey defeating someone trained by both Luke and Snoke with no training or Rose falling in love with Finn in 3 days?

Everything about Star Wars is about space magic and wizards with laser swords

I treat it the same way as Marvel

I still refute that Luke was trained by Yoda

He didn’t train. He ran around the jungle and failed to lift some rocks.

If everyone is ok with that then I’m ok with Rey

Empire is pretty smart about not letting on how much time actually passes during the movie. It’s feasible that movie takes place over months.
