My review:

8/10

Short summary: Finn is a useless, flat character. His, Rose, and Poe’s plan is utterly pointless and actually leads to the death of most of the resistance yet they are too stupid to realize it. Their entire line of hijinks post the first scene was totally unnecessary to the story. Finn should had died redeeming himself from his retarded plan leading to the death of thousands by realizing his guilt and flying into the laser. But NO, his stupidity is outdone by Roses’ who determines that in order to save the man she loves she must commit attempted murder and top it off by dying like she was in a high school play. And THEN Finn left her there to die (WTF) while some random red shirt drug her body in to save her (iirc).

Rey (HOT) and Luke were fantastic. Ben Solo was great as well. It’s obvious Rey is just Anakin reborn, the reincarnation of the chosen ala Aang from the last Air Bender.

Ben Solo, though great, has done nothing by get his arse kicked by Rey and outsmarted over the course of less than a week and we’re supposed to fear him in Ep 9, LULZ.

Snoke was a waste and went out like a bitch.

Great movie though.

8/10

I’m very thankful that the audience I saw it with seemed to love it. Would have made my experience worse if people had been awkward about it.

Do none of you go to see Star Wars for fun anymore?

It had its moments sure where I rolled my eyes, (Leia flying through space for one), but they’ve always had those moments. The OT has cheeseball lines galore and dumb moments too. I had a blast, I get jacked anytime the Falcon swoops in and the music plays.

My only personal gripe is the way Snoke went out, I wanted a duel between him and Luke. That didn’t happen and it’s ok, i still had a blast and felt like a kid again. Don’t take it so serious that it didn’t go the way you wanted.

I’m really curious to see how they close out this trilogy now that the Resistance consists of 10 ppl on the Falcon and they’ve gotta write around Carrie Fishers death. The final fight between Rey and Kylo should be damn epic.

Speaking of the Last Airbender, I was definitely getting huge Zuko and Katara vibes from it, it’s just Zuko murders his father here and goes evil instead of the other way around.

Exactly. I really feel the story sets up KYLO as the one who has more room to grow. Rey is great but she’s kind of arrived ala Katara.

For reference I predicted the main ideas of the plot and their characters to a T on here after watching TFA.

It’s like someone read the legacy of the force series in the EU, took a break, turned on Netflix and watched the Last Airbender. Got sucked in and decided...why not merge the two?

Finn waking up shouldn't have been played for laughs either. What is wrong with Rian?

why? Of all the things to complain about that isn’t one of them IMO

JJ Abrams actually wrote and directed an episode of Avatar. I feel almost certain Zuko was an influence on Kylo Ren’s character. They even have the scars.

The overarching point is that the “humor” was horribly misplaced throughout the majority of the film. Rogue One struck a good balance between serious and funny.

Humor is highly subjective, but I didn’t find Rogue One even a little bit funny

Wanna see it again before I complete my opinion.

It’s a very busy movie and I want to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

I’m not arguing against this. I’m just saying as a STAND ALONE moment it wasn’t too bad.

One pet peeve - that hipster looking purple headed leader should have been

WEDGE

FREAKING

ANTILLES

That way the parting of he and Leia would have a MUCH greater impact.

Instead we got this weird borderline lesbo goodbye that we are supposed to care about?

The people bitching about Rey being the child of nobodies are fricking dumbasses

Her being a Skywalker would've been lazy writing. Throwing her lineage there as a red herring was much better

Besides, probably the main theme of the movie was balance. Kylo rises up as the dark, the universe balances it out by producing light. The force isn't going to limit itself to several families.

Another poster earlier had a better idea than this: Admiral Ackbar. Instead he’s killed off unceremoniously.

Wedge Antillies would have been cool cuz he hasn’t gotten much screen time. Would have been cool for him to get a short spotlight.

Way better than lobster boy Ackbar.

I thought about that but it wouldn’t have resonated as well because he looks like a catfish molded out of human feces
