Poe and leia were the main characters
I felt like Poe was too. It felt from the start that the film was more about handing the leadership of the rebellion off to him from handling Finn/Rose behind the scene to the coup of leadership. I felt that this movie was about Poe’s growth in the resistance moreso than Rey.

Her finale was with Ren on Snoke's ship. It was garbage writing. It's like they just had to find something for her to do after she battled Ren, so they give her a few seconds during the battle to distract the fighters and then bring her in as a deus ex machina at the end.
Like flying around looking for “life forms?”
WHY? Rey and Chewy were LITERALLY just in a freaking dog fight with life forms next to the door with a huge hole in it that led to a room full of life forms. Did the force make them forget 5 minutes in the past and unable to see billows of smoke in the horizon indicating the exact location of life forms?

Rey isn’t a nobody. She’s a princess. Y’all will see..
I mean we all fell for that and/or Snoke was going to have a cool backstory. But you still believe? That’s sooo cute!

Episode 8 is going to go down as the Highlander 2 of Star Wars

Kylo Ren came on super strong as an interesting character in this movie. Even for all the other stuff it missed, that is one thing I liked about it. Unlike Cader from the original trilogy, who is an imposing killing “machine,” Ren is a great example of a conflicted force user (something the prequels failed horribly at). I have a feeling force ghost Luke is going to impart for character development to him in Ep. 9.
In some ways I think he is the main character of these movies. That and the visuals were out of this world.
On the other hand, the script was dogshit. All of the Rey/Luke scenes were untillegible garbage that were horribly underwritten. They made that whole arc into complete limbo jumbo. Almost all of the humor was really bad. The Poe/Hux scene was cringeworthy and stupid.
All of the complaints about Ackbar are legit. Holding does have some more connections in the expanded universe, but absolutely none of that came through on screen. It is amazing to me that they let Rian kill off one of the most beloved characters with an off-handed remark.
I’m not as upset about Rey’s lineage, but all of the shite they put into Ep. 7 about it seems really weird. At this point, I hope Ren was lying (or misled by Snoke). I feel conflicted about Snoke. I thought his death played out really well on screen, but I again have no clue why they made him so mysterious in Ep. 7.
I think this board is being hard on the Luke force projection. Projecting yourself that far and for that long is an amazing feat with the force based on the expanded universe. Luke went out pulling a nearly superhuman force feat. That is actually pretty amazing.
A lot of the Poe/Finn storyline wasn’t that bad, but feels pointless in retrospect. How many times is Poe going to do something stupid and get let off the hook though.
Lastly Leia Longstockings was bad.
I have not a bloody clue what happens in Ep. 9. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Probably bad, especially since they probably planned to use Leia in some way.

Poe’s actions, from the first scene to the last, directly lead to the brutal deaths of 99% of the resistance.

Explain to me how they tracked the rebels through hyperspace

I mean the visuals of Kanto Byte were cool. Benicio del Toro was entertaining.
How they didn’t use that time to do something with an established character like Phasma, IDK.
Phasma was in all of these promotional shots as someone important. Lik the next Boba Fett. frick that I guess though.

I thought they were going to explain it as Finn being implanted with a microchip. Instead it’s basically just deus ex machina.

The more I think about this movie the more I hate it.

I loved yoda I’m it. Loved kylo ren. Luke’s storyline in this trilogy could’ve been so much more. Frick it hurts man

Why didn’t Rey force lift Kylo onto the Millennium Falcon and take him as a prisoner when she came to and Chewy ubered her out of the throne room?
I mean...wouldn’t that have ended the threat right then and there?
Instead, she left him laying there
she could have at least maimed him

I think I’m also kind of pissed that it felt like we didn’t get an awesome Star Wars battle (not lightsaber fight but military vs military). Because honestly, the one in the beginning wasn’t all that amazing. Maybe it’s jyst the inner kid in me, but when I see Star Wars, I want a major battle.

You did see a major battle.
A battle of feelings.
A battle of feelings.

I just can’t beleive how blatant Disney has made their SJW takeover in the past decade. It’s depressing as hell. Frick Goerge Lucas for selling out to gay Mickey Mouse.

I read the Last Jedi Crossroads book and apparently Snoke's ship is so big that it has 10 docking stations for regular Star Destroyers. I don't feel the film properly displayed that size to the audience.
I don't know.... It looked like the biggest stealth bomber I've ever seen.

The real reason Ackbar was replaced with Holdo. "A character w/ the name 'Ackbar' performing a suicide attack would have caused an epic sh*tstorm (and prob a fatwa calling for RJ's head)."

The movie was a joke. Thanks Disney.
