It felt like that because it was. The thing I was most excited for this movie was Snoke training Kylo Ren in the Dark Side of the Force. How can you possibly justify cutting that over this time wasting shite for 40 minutes? You would have felt something when Kylo killed Snoke if you spent time with the two of them "bonding" so to speak. I will definitely be downloading the fan edit of this movie that's only an hour and a half long.

Yeah, like I really care about this. I'm sure scumbags arm people like Boba Fett. It's just something you can easily assume.

The entire plot revolving around the First Order and the last few Resistance ships was a complete waste of time.

And essentially no real saber duels. I don't consider the guard scene or the Kylo-Luke scene real duels.

People need to realize, the Star Wars they grew up with is dead, the series has moved in a different direction, for better or for worse.

I have no problem with that. I went into this with a completely open and mind and was quite ready for some weird shite.

Leia basically resurrecting herself and soaring through space? I'm fine with it.

Luke's force projection? I thought it was awesome.

I'm not averse to changes to the canon or the introduction of new lore elements. But this was just a bad film - not necessarily because of its decisions, but the way it executed those decisions.

Killing off Snoke in such a lame way, and then expecting everyone to just forget about this character is downright lazy. End of story. They knew the questions everyone wanted to know - who is he? How did he become so powerful? What was he doing during the rule of the Empire? How did he come to find Ben? But instead of answering or exploring any of that in depth (which would have created a intricately complex and interesting villain), they took the easy way out by randomly killing him and expecting all of us to just forget about the character.

The Rose and Finn subplot was boring, mundane, and a waste of time.

Killing off Luke in the most random, anticlimactic, and unceremonious way possible was downright insulting.

Where was Rey during the final fourth of the film? This is a trilogy which is heavily dependent on Rey's personal arc, yet after getting tossed around by Snoke, she just disappears for the majority of the final act, aside from showing up at the last minute to lift some rocks.

Where were the Knights of Ren? Who were they? What happened to them? We'll never know, because apparently they're irrelevant now.

I wanted Star Wars to go in a bold new direction. Instead, this film crashed and tanked the trilogy entirely.

How about Poe just realizing out of nowhere that Luke is stalling? I think I literally said "what the frick?" During that scene.

The audience needed to be told what was going on

That's actually shocking. TLJ was light years better than 1 and 2 and I'd rate it above 7.

The Force Awakens shits all over this movie. Go back and watch it again after you seen TLJ.

TFA is so much better than TLJ it's not even really a comparison for me.

This movie was better than the prequels. That's it.

I wish they had used Lucas' story and had Abrams direct it.

Everyone's only point is it was a soft reboot, which is what they needed to do at the time. JJ Abrams checked off all the boxes he needed to. And hell Rey and Kylo Ren were engaging characters, and they're the only thing TLJ has going for it.

They should have directed this Lord of the Rings style simultaneously with Abrams or Brad Bird at the helm.

Aside from the obnoxious feminist propaganda that the first 30 minutes of the film was dedicated to it wasn’t that bad. A couple things though

1. What was the whole point of the Finn/Asian chick storyline? They accomplished literally nothing other than introduce the best character of the film and then he just left. WTF? Hope he comes back.

2. Just give Poe the Falcon already. That ship deserves better than that skinny little girl using it as her personal shuttle to run around the Galaxy with looking for her destiny or whatever.

3. The battle scene with the walkers and the little ski jets was cringeworthy. I thought we were so close to Finn finally doing something useful in the story.

4. Leia floating the space? GTFO

Other than that I like where the story is going with Rey and Kylo Ren. Hopefully The codebreakers character comes back. Glad that insufferable admiral chick is dead.

It would have been nice to see Finn die a noble death. Finn’s facial expressions are almost as annoying a Kylo’s face. Kyle needs to keep the mask.

The movie was ok but not great in any way. Why not just create and develop a line of empowering sci-fi movies for women instead of ruining Star Wars. I don’t mind Rey except for her strange force superpower.

What is left to fight for? They destroyed all Republic planets in VII and their military in VIII. Poe should be executed. You have some major calling out an admiral in a room full of people and starting a mutiny.

Wouldn’t it have easier to destroy rebel base II from space instead of bringing the superheat gun to the planet/moon?

These movies are repeating the original trilogy. Hopefully we can move on from the Skywalkers after the next episode and move on to some Old Republic stuff.

Leia gliding through space may have been cheesy but it was cool but killing Akbar like that was weak as was Luke’s death.

God I forgot about them to be honest. I was hoping to get a backstory on them and it seems like Rian completely overlooked or forgot about them. Didn't the Force Awakens (in the flashback) hint that the Knights were involved in the destruction of Luke's next gen Jedi?
