Seeing it again with my old man and brother tomorrow, maybe it'll get better on a 2nd viewing but more than likely I'll find more to nitpick on.

I knew about the force projection coming in and it was handled better than I thought but it was still absolutely pointless. Luke should have confronted him in person. Seeing him withstand the lasers without a scratch could have been a Neo moment and demonstrated how much he mastered the force.
As much as I disliked the prequels, I still left opening night happy. That wasn't the case here. J.J. is going to have a mess to clean up. Not just the poor writing but writing around Carrie Fisher. They should have just killed her.

Good. Please stop watching. Can’t believe how fricking miserable you all are. Movie was great. Jesus Christ, Was hoping to come on here and discuss how fun, entertaining, and uplifting the movie is, but I’ve walked into a trap of miserable fools (and I know they are mostly just ignorant nerds because half the posts mention the Thrawn trilogy or some shite...)
For folks who actually enjoy things, go see it and have fun! None of the complaints (and I mean literally NONE of them) are legit and can all be categorized as nitpicking or just dumb.

Rogue One felt like a Star Wars Movie. This didn’t.
This movie reminds me a lot of Iron Man 3. Taken in a vacuum it’s a solidly made movie. I love Shane Black. It’s not a bad movie, it’s just a bad Iron Man movie.

BTW, Rey is 100% going back to Ach-to to retrieve Luke's green saber and make a double bladed saber with both of Luke's crystals. The few things I liked were the Royal Guard fight, Yoda returning, and the flashbacks.

It’s laughable people actually want this. It happens right after RotJ when everyone is still young, which means the characters would be re-cast or CGI. Both would lead to people bleeding all over the board (as usual).

I did like the version of the light-whip one used. Still, I don't see how they were capable of holding their own as long as they did against two force users.

The Last Jedi was excellent, unexpected, and forged an entirely new path for the franchise in a good way.

Also, not killing off Leia was a mistake. Now we don’t get to say goodbye to her. You can’t just not have her in the trilogy anymore. You can’t have her survive that for an offscreen death later. And for god sakes you can’t CGI kill her later.

I don't care about the new characters outside of Rey and Kylo. Poe has redeeming qualities when he isn't played for humor. Finn is just unlikable. I felt like his story was over in TFA. The fact that they wasted his arc on a pointless mission proved they didn't know what to do with him

Star Wars is a Skywalker story. Either Rey will be revealed to be Kylos cousin/Sister, or Star Wars is no longer a Skywalker story.

Heck we could have had a NJO/Vong trilogy. There is some problems there but at least we'd have a bad guy/group that isn't the same old dark side/Empire routine.

I totally understand how people can dislike this movie.
But I loved it. I loved every second. It was spectacular and pushed boundaries.
Honestly Luke not being the focus was the highlight for me.
