Then let’s all just agree not to acknowledge or respond. It’s that simple.

So what was the last point/question/topic brought up?

Yep, same here.

My rapid reaction overlooked the damage it did to the franchise.

I was immediately disgusted with Luke.

Kylo/Rey was decent

Leia Poppins made me conclude that I had just wasted time on a shite film.

Lea should have died.

Dern served no purpose and could’ve been replaced by many other existing characters.

Snoke? Why? Who? What’s his story? Oh, never mind.

Let’s go to space Monte Carlo. Why? No reason at all apparently.

The lightsaber toss pisses me off to this very moment.

I had a similar reaction.

I thought it had some entertainment value -even as it made no sense at parts - but I was bothered by some things that I was having trouble putting exact thought to as I left.

If you had told me it was like Fifth element - just a crazy space adventure - turn off your brain, ignore Chris Tucker antics and it has no ties to anything else, I would say it was a poorly executed but entertaining enough through action movie.

But its not - its 8 of 9 and 2 of 3 in a group of stories. And it not only actively doesn't add to any of those that came before or it or set up anything of interest for what comes after it, it actively destroys things of value in the ones that preceded it and destroys intrigue in what happens next. It was extremely harmful.

Returning to the death of Star Wars. I’m sure we thought, how could it get any worse?

TFA was enough for me to figure it out. That was the last time I paid for Star Wars.

I made it to TLJ, but was very disappointed in TFA and kinda hoped they'd correct some of that. And my son and his buddy were still in the "frick YEAH more Star Wars!" mode and wanted to see TLJ opening night. Which we did.

Haven't seen another on the big screen since. I think we will maybe catch the Mando movie, since we're ok with that storyline so far. But it's still going to be a 1-at-a-time decision, if the first one sucks I don't see catching the rest.
