I am very late to this series. Currently on Season 4 and I suddenly got the sense that the main character of the series is not a character at all rather it is the Enterprise itself.

Am I wrong? Agree or disagree?

ETA: Diana (sp?) Troy is straight smoke.

I grew up watching this with my old man. It came on Sunday night and was a last weekend hurrah before school on Monday. And yes Troy had a fine pair. Never was into Star Trek but I did like TNG. First Contact was a good movie, too.

I really hope, in real life, that we achieve warp speed to the sounds of Magic Carpet Ride.

I think you might be overthinking it.

It’s Picard.

By the end of the series that's not really in question.

I would also include Data and to a little smaller degree Worf..A great amount of the stories centered around these 3. Worf was so strong he saved DS9 IMO.

My favorite episode where she got all randy and shagged the young officer.

Youre at the point where it became a good show. The first 2 seasons are complete crap, 2 maybe 3 good episodes. The first half of S3 is better but from the episode Yesterday’s Enterprise forward it’s a really good show. S4-5-6 are the best imo

IMO the Best of Both Worlds Part 1 and 2 elevated TNG to something special.

OP, I hope you're happy. You've started something now...LOL

Deanna Troi

Dr. Crusher was hotter, though. Those long dancer legs.

But Tasha was the total package.

I saw it on the big screen when they'd played the two-parter in the theaters a few years ago.

Data I would agree. I don't see any outsized importance of TNG Worf over, say, Riker, for example.

Respectfully, this is some straight up bullshite right here. Yes, DS9 Worf is significantly better than TNG Worf, but DS9 kicked arse on many levels. I would argue that it was symbiotic - DS9 freed Worf and Worf helped elevate DS9 in return.

No problem. Here are the aforementioned dancer legs.

Dr. Crusher banging space ghost in Sub Rosa episode is so historically bad, that you have to watch it at least once.

I never really cared for it. It was okay, and I liked Avery Brooks (especially his voice) but they never went anywhere. Star Trek, to me, is supposed to be about constantly encountering new life and new civilizations, just like Kirk and Picard say in the opening credits. A stationary object just can't do as much as a free-wheeling starship, and I prefer the adventure of the unknown to the soap opera format of DS9.

Dax might be the finest of them all, though. It took years for me to realize that was the same actress who was in Back to School.

Easy there tiger...

First, I agree DS9 is much better than TNG. They took the risk of going serialize rather than episodic TV and the product was far superior.

Now to Worf TNG:

I note "To a Little Smaller Degree" and I stand by this. Thanks to Worf, we were able to begin deep dives into the Klingon Culture which took them from being an adversary to a noble warrior race that get's a little fricked up with politics.

Worf had very special relationships with both Captains. Hell Picard stood beside him when he was on Trail for the Sins of his father..In Fact Picard did the same for Data in Measure of a Man.

Riker had great stand alone Episodes. No doubt. One of my favorite characters. They had to damage his standings in Starfleet to justify keeping him from being promoted with the Pegasus incident. In fact, Riker had a special relationship with good old Worf..
