The internet ruins everything fun, so while I've known in my gut just from the way most articles put it, I hadn't seen it in print like this. Bad move by the Tribune. I wonder if their original article about Star Wars mentioned how Darth Vader was Luke's Father...shite, SPOILERS!!
But yeah, I'll be in attendance in the 8pm IMAX showing tonight, like the article mentioned. First showing in S/BC. and am I wearing Star Trek socks to work...well, I'm not not wearing star treks sock to work...

I thought it would be Khan from the way he's punching people and they are flying in the previews.
They weren't really trying to hide it too much I guess.

you know he is coming too, to write another lengthy essay on here about how much it sucked.
sadly he is one of those mind made up without seeing kinda guys.
My wife says she doesn't like the new series (she is a big trek fan) because of the main characters personality changes and I kinda get that...but the new movie/s are as pure to the original as one can get while appealing to a modern audience.
I have my tix to tonite's 11pm showing and I can't wait.

Well to be fair, this is a sequel. If you hated the first one, it's okay to assume you won't like this one.
It's not exactly the same as those who've already decided they hate the new Star Wars movies.

Yeah, everybody had narrowed it down to two possible villains so it's not really a big surprise.
Plus, now reviewers are beginning to spoil it more or less accidentally because a lot of them aren't hard core fans of the series and thus don't know it's a big deal.
It'll be interesting to see what explanation they have for him being up and about in this timeline.

And to be fair, he did really, thoroughly, in many, many threads explain why he didn't like the first one - in agonizing detail, actually. You don't have to agree with him, but damn it, you have to respect the effort he put into all of that.

Another fricking spoiler thread. Thanks.
Can someone at least change the subject heading so that we don't spoil it for everyone on TD?

kirk gets it on with an alien woman too.
spoiled.
Now the movie is ruined for you.
It must be difficult not reading anything for fear of 'spoilers'

you were saved 10 bucks...be grateful.
or conversely you can accept that not everything (especially painfully obvious and unecessarily vauge things) aren't spoilers.
Explain to me how the movie as been diminished, altered, or spoiled based on the OP. I think the OP is fine.

In this case, I have to agree.
Did anybody really think the bad guy was just some one off villain named John Harrison?
And besides, the real identity isn't really that important. What "matters" is how this timeline's version differs from the original since the motivations and history are different.
