I wouldn't be so sure. shite in the last two challenges\games alone there are no longer any straight white males. Either gays/women or minorities.
seemed too easy to rig to me...

You know there were no real deaths in the original right?

I just finished episode 9. Great show, terrible contestants.

In glass bridge, the contestants picked a glass then they were told if they were right or wrong,
Then they were removed from the bridge and a stunt double fell through the glass.

If that was how they did it, 301 should have cussed 278 out as he was exiting the game. I would have. But then again, If I was him, I wouldn't have jumped again and let everyone get mad at her as they pass me and take their one jump as agreed upon.

That’s the thing tho, did she agree? If it’s 4.5 million we talking about & I can’t win I’m letting other pass me and attempt to guess right or going to run out the clock and we all lose
Several times someone came up with an idea and all of a sudden the people around said good idea we think they’d a good idea and majority rules, bullshite- not in a game like that. Same with the selection of TJ as well leader, Chad woke up and found out TJ was now the leader, he was like WTF.

Hmm. I'll reserve judgment a bit after watching the finale. Thoughts?

I thought the finale was pretty underwhelming compared to the rest of the season.

She definitely agreed to it after she jumped. She made her jump and then said something like "alright I did my jump it's yalls turn".
It really didn't make any sense at all for her to not skip him and take her jump. Instead she let him jump two more times. Looked like a huge count. Then proceeded to do her one jump and then continue to follow the rule they agreed upon.
In my mind it had to be editing. She was slow playing it and didn't really want to but the pusssay that is 301 never even said anything. Just looked around and waited and when she didnt move he decided to keep jumping.
He just got ahead of his self and was being dumb. Should have held his ground and made her go.
Also the finale.. When it was down to the 2 gay dudes decided who would go click the button it was insanely dumb for the big bearded one to volunteer. Whoever waited to the last pick (between the 2 gays) was all but GUARANTEED to make the finale. And that dude just easily gave it up with no hesitation.

Man, this x100.
It JUST happened. And everyone had amnesia about it but Mai. And they're all like... WTF is wrong with Mai? Why is she such a bitch for targeting 278?
Blew my mind.

Yeah that made no sense and makes me further question the integrity of the show. I figured they would play rock paper scissors or something. Him giving in that easy was sketchy AF.

Wait was it confirmed Phil was gay?

I doubt they’d do something like that, completely rigging a game. It was obvious they were not trap doors, and more than likely the producers told the contestants if they were right or wrong, and then rigged up the contestant in a harness to drop them if they were wrong
[LINK ](LINK
> The pass-or-fail pattern of the stepping stones was also determined before the game began, and the pattern was so top-secret that only a small group of people on the production side knew exactly which stone was which. Independent adjudicators were used to oversee the game in progress to ensure nothing changed
There are laws on the books with big penalties for rigging prize competitions. Not sure why Netflix would risk it when they can just edit the footage to make the contestants look how they want them to look.

I said that earlier, but got downvoted to heck.
I’m mildly happy Mai won. She was my favorite after the glass bridge.
The show was mildly entertaining but extremely drawn out. Of course the vast majority of the people given a huge amount of time speaking in confessionals didn’t make it anywhere near the end, like so many of the participants in the glut of reality shows.
It’s a shame this came no where near creating the tension of the original show. Despite a shite ton of life-changing money involved, I found it extremely bland overall. I hope season 2 of the original show gets to me as much as season 1 did.

I feel the same but it is almost an impossible ask. They can't give us a very similar show because we have been there and done that and it will be hard to build tension. They can't veer too far from the original concept or we get Season 2 of the Wire vibes which most people tend to hate. The last thing I read was S2 isn't supposed to wrap filing for several more months so a late '24 release is expected. Maybe the time is just what the writers needed to meet expectations.

Finished the finale last night. Hated Mai, and wanted her gone a long time ago but I got to give it to her, she was good at playing the game. A lying bitch, but she was good at it. I don't think I've seen one person fake cry so many times in one show. It was unreal she kept getting so many people to trust her.
100% agree with her going after 278 though. 278's arse should have been gone on glass bridge but for some reason everyone gave her a pass. She makes 301 take 3-4 jumps and never passes him but it's definitely ok with only doing one jump and letting every one pass her up. Gtfo you better keep on jumping.
Casting was pretty outrageous on this show though. Had to have been about 75% gay.

Necro'ing the shite out of this thread because my wife and I randomly binged this this weekend and...this is exactly what we were saying.
Like I was HEATED. Has anything come out afterwards to explain everyone's lack of reaction to Ashley basically being responsible for both Trey and James being eliminated on the bridge? I seriously could NOT get past how everyone just let that shite go except Mei. And then they all acted like Mei was crazy for targeting Ashley?? And then Mei let Ashley gaslight the shite out of her during the apology??
Glad Mei won, but I liked Phill, too.
Ashley getting eliminated was satisfying ona level close to Joffrey dying, tho.

Right there with you.
278’s antics on the bridge caused me to root against her. But the group’s reaction afterwards sent me into a fury
It simply made zero sense.
