What was the original ending?

Similar to the ending of Reservoir Dogs, where basically everybody shoots one another. In the end, the sheriff (Goggins) was the only one still alive, but he was mortally wounded. He wraps himself up in the bearskin blanket and awaits his impending death.

Sounds mild, but it would've been a helluva lot better than that clusterfrick of an ending we were given.

Honestly I'm sick of Samuel L Jackson. We've been given so much of him that it's like SLJ overload. He needs to make something fresh and new WITHOUT Jackson dominating the script.

I enjoyed it. Kinda dragged on at some points, and it's not in my top 3 of QT movies, but it was still better than 90% of the movies that came out this year. I felt as though this movie could have been better suited split up into a 5 or 6 episode HBO series. I needed more development out of Channing and the other members of the 4 passengers. The dialogue was subpar compared to PF or IB, but still entertaining. Not as quotable as I thought it'd be but then again, "you only need to hang mean bastards, but mean bastards you need to hang" will stick with me. 4/5 stars.

I found it entertaining, especially after they reached Minnie's, but the time in the stagecoach had a lot of unrealistic and too-long dialog that did not pay off for me. That part was poorly written, in my opinion. I was ready to move on.

I agree that QT needs a break from Samuel L Jackson. I love the guy in Pulp Fiction and some other flicks, but it is getting to where I can't buy him as a character; he is just SLJ on the screen talking loudly.

I'm fine with using the N word in movies in a realistic way. ("They ain't never seen no N on no horse before" was my favorite line of Django.) People use it all the time in real life. But QT forces it in so often and unnaturally that it sticks out and becomes a distraction. He could have cut a few from this movie and made it sound more realistic to me.

Just saw it and enjoying it more than I thought. The big black dingus part was stupid, Tarantino's narration sucked, and some of the performances was corny but overall it was entertaining. Better than Django and Jackie Brown for sure. It was good seeing Walton Goggins get a big part. He deserves more.

My exact thoughts. The dingus he just carried it a little to far. An amped up version of Like a virgin in Resevoir Dogs. Not really necessary to carry it that far to get the man to draw.

Narration was unnecessary but a way that QT could get into the film I suppose.

Goggins, Russell, and Leigh knocked it out of the park though. Jackson while good, was the same ol jackson in every other QT movie.
