Bringing back the Sadam bit was clever, as were the NPR/Cartman bits.
The two other major plot points were them just sorta raging at complete straw men. Christianity is as absent in public schools as it has been going on the last 50 years. Pretty sure Trump being in office 6 months has changed nothing on that front. Same story with the narrative that Colbert was cancelled thanks to Trump. It's just provably not true which greatly undercuts how funny or clever any of the "satire" surround it is.

I agree it was a good episode and the shock value felt more like the 90's again but the whole colbert being fired thanks to trump and suing people for disagreeing with him kind of undercuts how clever it was. You could tell they really hate trump at this point 
none of that bothered me because I love south park and comedy. Just hope they don't waste another season on trump. They already did that one season.

I don’t think that was the point, rather they were attacking the mouth breathers who insist that all of the worlds problems would just go away if we turned all schools into churches as wel as the feckless former progressives who have just kind of looked at the last 6 months and accepted that this is just how it is now.

I don’t think they mentioned Colbert at all, rather it was a direct reference to Paramount bending the knee to Trump’s inane lawsuit so they could get FCC approval for their merger. Hence they had the 60 Minutes characters freaking the frick out - it was the show that prompted Trump to sue.
None of it is supposed to be an accurate portrayal of real life, it’s all supposed to be way overblown satire (which is why when they do things like the Scientology and Mormon episodes it’s hilarious)

it was pretty obvious in the episode, he enjoyed listening to the libs cry about everything.
I imagine SEK would react similarly if he ran out of "wokeness" in movies/tv to bitch about.

That was one of the clear TDS elements of the episode, - the idea that Trump just sues everyone who says anything negative about him. Nice. I will admit that Trump being a disingenuous Christian is spot on, though. No serous Christian would have scamming 'prosperity' preacher Paula White as his personal faith advisor.
But they've been slowly transitioning to being leftist pod people ever since their play was allowed on Broadway. They shifted further after their last big contract and now we get this.
And yeah, not a single episode on Joe or Hunter, two absolute comedy gold mines, and the only Obama appearances had him as a slick jewel thief in that gay episode.
